I was under the impression that Sunni and Shiite were religious denominations who differ in their opinion of the succession to Muhammed, and that, although the Sunni perspective was the dominant one worldwide, that Shiite adherents were to be found in several countries throughout the Islamic domain, several of which had nothing to do with Ethnic Arabs.

Frankly, I do not thing that I'd label an Indonesian nor a Persian (Iranian) or Afghan as an 'Arab', even if they did speak Arabic, as a people, because their PRIMARY language would not be Arabic...
