“It would neither be true or honest to say that the Negros problem is what it is because he is innately inferior or because he is basically lazy and listless or because he has not lifted himself by his own bootstraps. To find the origins of the Negro problem we must turn to the white man’s problem.”
-Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

You posted a bunch of malarkey.

The worst choices that have been made began with slavery. Then, whites continued making bad choices when they implemented Jim Crow. These things legislated inequality. Even after the Civil Rights Act, there have been whites who up to this day, still try denying equal opportunity t non white people. What is a cultural thing is white backlash to anything that has attempted to provide true equality. These decisions, made primarily by whites, result in inequality. So maybe for whites, inequality is due to their bad choices, but the root cause of the problems blacks and every other non white group have, including the large majority of Asians, is white racism.

Period.
Most racism is simply dislike for another 'race' or preference for one's own. This isn't going to change.

No, we don't. Another thing Democrats will never admit. And they won't win again until they do.

Then we can't have a government. Do you want anarchy?
Democrats are not the minority here. White supremacists should not be part of any law or policy decisions. Millions of whites are not white supremacists, so there won't be any anarchy.

The racism that had whites disliking other races for their own extended into whites making laws to deny others the same rights, and today it continues with whites who just simply do not follow the laws made to provide equality for everyone. You can dislike whoever you want, but when tht dislike impedes the liberty of those you don't like, that's when it must be stopped.

When statues commemorating historical American figures art torn down while the statue of a Russian communist, Vladimir Lenin, is allowed to stand in Seattle, the left has been allowed too much power.
When people support protecting statues of people wh have committed atrocities against other peope living in America, the right has been allowed too much power.

You don't seem to be comprehending my posts. I'm sorry.

Hey, you'll never hear me say no to equality. The states can implement any laws they want to bring about equality, as long as its constitutional and doesnt infringe on anyone elses rights.
The equal opportunity policies that the right has opposed have not infringed upon anyone's rights. The data shows this. The states are not the final authority to determine equality. The states have always had problems with equality. That's why it is the federal government's job to make sure equality is provided throughout the country.

This thread is truly a "teachable moment", regarding the futility of extremism.

This morning on the Smerconish show (on CNN), he showed in a clear way that this country is being torn apart by the extremes of both parties, In his show, he showed (using polls) that Centrism is what most Americans want. Compromises by both parties is what has worked in the past and would be the solution to today's problems

A New Centrism Is Rising in Washington - The New York Times
May 19, 2024 — The very notion of centrism is anathema to many progressives and conservatives, conjuring a mushy moderation. But the ...

I am in total agreement!

What say you?

You won't help if you give yourself to being part of the problem.

You don't seem to be comprehending my posts. I'm sorry.
I comprehend it very well. Let's get the record straight, because no one should capitulate to the racists, sexists, misogynists, etc., to win elections and those who think we should are another part of the problem. When you look at the whole picture, 161 million people of voting age did not vote for what we're seeing. Some Democrats stayed home because they did not ike the way Harris would not denounce Netanyahu, not because people rejected some so-called woke liberal agenda. Stop reading and believing right-wing extremist propaganda. To think it's extreme to support fair treatment for all people, even if you do not agree with their ifestylle, is crazy. A person doesn't have to like transgender people to say that they are human and have the right to be respected. It is extreme to obsess over .1 percent of the population while downplaying behaviors that are done by nearly half the country.

2-3 weeks ago, there was an election. Republicans got Beat up in every election. Democrats are not the ones who need to recognize things.

You really don't.

See - that's all in your head. I haven't suggested you should capitulate. To anyone. Again, you're confusing consensus with compromise.
Democrats are not the ones who need to recognize things.
If they want to improve government they do.

Goldwater made that comment in his nomination speech. Goldwater opposed the Civil Rights Act.
Ahh... I see. You mangled the quote. It was actually:
"Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice, and let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue"
So here's where you're going to say that he opposed civil rights. But that's not so. He opposed the Civil Rights Act. Because it was bad law. I think he was right.
