First, we never claimed the list contained “the crimes of pedophiles”, that story came almost entirely from the right, almost invariably followed by innuendo but no proof. The current head of the FBI and the DOJ didn’t just float it, they publicly said they had proof actually. The VP repeated it last week. Politicians on your side have been milking it for years.

Now those same folks are officially saying the opposite.

So your question is basically: Why didn’t the left run with the conspiracy theory the right made up, about Democrats .The answer’s the same reason I don’t call the fire department when my neighbor says his toaster is plotting against him.

And while we’re here, why is Biden not releasing the Epstein files supposedly proof of a shadowy plot… but Trump completely changing his story, refusing to release the files after years of teasing it, and his team literally giving Epstein’s accomplice leniency somehow irrelevant?

At this point, the only “story” you’re keeping straight is the one where it’s always someone else’s fault.

So, there are no pedos because the Democrats didn't charge any. So, the Democrats wailing about the Epstein Files is just a political attack on Trump.

Let me play devil’s advocate for a second. What if there isn’t a list of people being actively blackmailed by Epstein, and it’s just a list of anyone associated with him in some way? Dropping that list into the public would be like handing out participation trophies for being in the wrong room, it fuels partisanship, political games, and, most importantly, hurts the real victims.

In a perfect world, this would be handled quietly in court, away from the circus. But Trump has made that impossible, turning a legal and moral issue into a reality TV episode nobody asked for.

That said, if one of the names is Trump, as seems likely, and the current administration doesn’t release it, I see no reason to stay silent about the hypocrisy. Partisanship will flare either way, but the true victims, everyone harmed by Epstein and his network, deserve attention over politics. Sadly, the victims get hurt no matter what, and the irony here is tragic.

I think you are probably right. I've heard of judges mentioning protecting the victims, but what if they are talking about the victims of blackmail i.e. the wealthy and powerful mention by Mac?

The whole Epstein affair could be a foreign intelligence blackmail operation most likely by Israel. Maxwell father was connected with the Mossad and the Israeli gov't. I can see the Republicans, Democrats, and judges all wanting to hide the fact that US leaders were caught in a honey trap and blackmailed.

Trump maybe backtracking on the release of the files because he's trying to strongly support Israel right now. The American people would not take a Mossad operation against US politicians to ensure the US funding of Israel very well.

My point is simple: before accusing someone of such a serious crime, especially if you're the government, you’d better be absolutely certain you can substantiate it. This is a standard that Trump and his allies, including yourself, routinely and gleefully disregard, unlike Biden and Garland, who have adhered to it.

But now, suddenly, after YOUR DOJ spent months hinting at it, they've changed course. And the Wall Street Journal, a newspaper owned by Rupert Murdoch, revealed that Trump is implicated in those files. Now, out of nowhere, Democrats are expected to continue exercising restraint, a restraint you often label as weakness.

Glock, this is the ultimate self-inflicted embarrassment, and rest assured, no amount of whining or fake outrage will stop me from bringing it up.

Legally, I’d keep ambiguous stuff under wraps. Releasing it could fuel partisanship and unfairly implicate people who aren’t proven guilty. Trump’s birthday card to Epstein? Enough to investigate, but not enough for a grand jury. Principle and procedure say caution.

My point is simple: before accusing someone of such a serious crime, especially if you're the government, you’d better be absolutely certain you can substantiate it. I did, at nauseum. Biden and Garland likely knew that the Epstein files don't warrant prosecutions, so they didn't release anything. As opposed to this DOJ who's been ramping up interest without proof. At least that's what they acknowledge.

In other words Trump, Patel, and Bondi have been playing political games, using some of the vilest crimes imaginable as ammo, and are now being burned by it. And that is, sweet, sweet, irony.
