The ‘Earth-Shattering’ News Rush Limbaugh Says the Media Ignored, You Need to Know

So wisconsin's infrastructure and schools will fall apart....it's the reaganist way...

You just keep repeating the same BS over and over. Education spending increases every year but it goes into paying for teachers that are not getting the job done. Paying someone more to do the same thing doesn't solve anything. But it seems to be the mantra of the liberal left to just keep throwing other people's money at a problem hoping it will get fixed. idiotic.

Why do you feel the need to lie?

You use a graph that does not adjust for inflation or the number of children served by the system.

OB-XO227_PUPIL_E_20130521163518.jpg
.

Even your more accurate graph is alarming. It shows that per-pupil costs have gone from around $8,000 in 1992 to over $10,000 in 2010. Costs have actually increased by 25 percent during the same time as student performance has been in noticeable decline. There's something wrong here.

Your graph proves increased spending does not result in increased academic success for America's children. Perhaps we should shift the focus from spending more and more on a failing system and try to find out what the real causes of failure are.

What lie? You said funding was cut, it has not been cut. Even taking in account the dip, due to Obama's inflation of the dollar, the money spent still increases over time. And as I said, no one can be happy with what we are getting for our money.

$10,000 per pupil.....only 20 kids in a class.......equals $200,000 per classroom per year !....

does it really cost that much to teach your children....? :eusa_hand:

there are probably a lot of teachers who would love to set up their own shop and teach a class of 20 for 9 months a year for $200k.....and probably do a hell of a better job of it....

the whole education system needs a total overhaul....Scott Walker would be just the man to bust the NEA and the Department of Education and help the states create responsible new budgets for education...

Any wonder why private schools are so hated?

Well, first, I would argue that there really hasn't been a decline. In fact, test scores have been improving.

National Test Scores Show Slight Math, Reading Increases For American Students

Second, I would argue the problem is that where we allocate resources is part of the problem. A lot of that increase has been increases in special education. While it's nice that some of these children are getting the attention, it really doesn't effect test scores.

Now, I actually agree that some of the problems really do come down to unions that resist reform, and protect bad teachers to a ridiculous level.

That said, 50% of teachers quit in the first five years.

Okay, a couple problems with this.

Nothing Scott Walker did improved education. He just reduced the political influence of Teacher's Unions and the level of protection teachers have.

Considering that the attrition rate for teachers is usually

Second, the problem with your $200,000 figure is that it assumes every student is an English Speaking Child with no disabilities.

Keep in mind, a class of 20 kids are going to need one teacher for Science, one for Math, one for Social Studies, and so on.

Do children attend all those classes at once? The children attend on class at a time with one teacher at a time. Doesn't matter if the room or the teacher changed it is still 1-1-1.

Not really.

The problem is you think that it's an average. The reality is that they are probably spending $100,000 on the special ed kid, and $9,000 on a kid who is going to end up in the work force some day.

Indeed. What do we have instead? State leaders that are more concerned with "legalizing" pot, than operating fiscally responsibly.

You have a republican administration that is doing well (as are most of the republican governors around the country) and the media refuses to cover them. Returning monies to the citizens of a state - WOW! What a novel idea!!

The thing about legalizing pot is that it is also heavily taxed and it is mostly blue states doing so. What it tells me is they could give a crap is MJ is good or bad for a person all they want is yet another sin tax.

what happens when it is heavily taxed

the black market kicks in

i read a bag of legal weed cost upwards of a hundred dollars more

then the black market weed because of taxes

EXACTLY! :clap2:

These idiots that are trumpeting this "law" are ignoring the fact that when the states increase taxation (because that's what states DO) it will merely start the whole black market process over again - except by then, there will be no way in HELL to control it.

You open Pandora's box and you can NOT close it again.

Walker is looking good for the 2016 GOP nomination. He'll be in the mix.. ...

I think so too. He is going to have to generate more passion, than is natural for him, though, to survive the debates should he be the nominee....

I assumed the earth-shattering news would be about Justin Beiber.

Oh, Walker is as corrupt as they come, so of course the kooks here kiss his ass. They regard corruption and failure and prerequisites for office, hence they adore Walker.

Any facts to back this up? didnt think so

Scott Walker DID improve education......he did it EXACTLY by reducing the influence of the Teachers Unions....and reducing costs...

instead of lining the public unions pockets...and the pockets of the Democrats.....the school districts now have the option to spend that money on the STUDENTS if they need it....and school districts no longer have to dance to the tune of the unions...

how many non-English speaking children with disabilities are there anyhow....? if the unions get out of the picture i have the feeling that the number of 'disabilities' will plummet to a very small number...and children who can't speak English will just have to get busy and learn it...no more coddling the illegals....

and as for rotating teachers of different subjects you realize that while one teacher is teaching math to one class the other teacher is teaching science to another class....so the average cost per classroom is still essentially the same if you include the same number of students in each classroom....and yes i realize that you can state the costs differently per different classrooms or students or school district....these are simply overview figures...

This is Earth shattering? Here in Oregon, they have returned excess taxes back to the citizens in the form of "kicker" checks for years. Of course, the politicians hate it and want it to go to some rainy day fund instead.

I keep telling these people that if the above bolded were true then Obama would be our god.

The ‘Earth-Shattering’ News Rush Limbaugh Says the Media Ignored, but You Need to Know.

I thought we all agreed on a moratorium on "bombshell" and related words for 2014 due to gross overuse and exaggeration.

A tax cut in Wisconsin is "Earth-shattering" news? Not! It does not even create a jitter on the seismograph, mm-kay?

Let's make 2014 the Year of Down-Worthing.

it's 'earth-shattering' because giving back citizens their own money happens so rarely....

of course politicians hate it...controlling citizen money is the source of their power.....that's why the Demonrats are totally ignoring Scott Walker....

Did you hear what Borillar said?

Did Rush get all sweaty over Oregon's kicker checks? Huh? Did he? Did he call the return of money to Oregon taxpayers "Earth-shattering" news that was being ignored by the media or did he...ignore that news?

Oregon is a blue state, so I am going to guess...he ignored it. He didn't say a word about it.

And that tells you everything you need to know about Rush Limbaugh's hypocrisy and his "earth-shattering" bullshit.

Thought you people were about less government and more individual freedom?
Make up your f*cking minds.

America need more Governors like Mr. Walker. In the Northeast in particular.
