Sounds like the sensible answer.Chose an identity other than victim, perpetrator or rescuer?
OK. Isn't choosing a different identity than one than brings you to the triangle of whatnot a way to go beyond?I'm talking about these as "identities". I'm talking about them as states of mind which we can go beyond.Chose an identity other than victim, perpetrator or rescuer?
They aren't identities. They are responses that people in recovery get stuck in. Everyone does this in response to addicts and alcoholics.OK> Isn't choosing a different identity than one than brings you to the triangle of whatnot a way to go beyond?I'm talking about these as "identities". I see. Identities and states of mind can't possibly be the same sort of experience for someone trying to recover. They aren't identities.

How is choosing not to be a victim/perp/rescuer a rescue response? By rescue I assumed you meant rescue the other person and not yourself. Was I wrong about that?We would call that post a highly conditional rescue response. Of course, when conditions aren't met as advised this type of rescuer can turn into a persecutor or perpetrator at the drop of a hat.Chose a different state of mind.
Here's a tip. Explain yourself. Don't play games. Then you likely won't get "attacked".Sorry folks, this thread isn't working out. I offered it for general discussion not personal attack.
Er..reality isn't subjective.Realize that reality is in the mind, comes through perceptions, it 100% subjective, and attitude can be a choice.
When I said choose a different state of mind I was saying that about the victims/perp/rescuers. In other words, don't be any of them."Rescuers" are any sort of "helpers", and they end up being victims in making or persecutors in making. The persecutor is the one who gives the insults and injuries that maintan dissociative transactions, or dysfunction doses, so to speak.
