I've been wanting to see this movie for a while, and I finally got around to it. I never saw The Room in its entirety. I only saw the most infamous clips on YouTube, but I was definitely interested when I heard Franco and friends were making a sort of mock documentary/drama/comedy about the making of The Room.
I think most of the movie is about an 8/10. However, I liked the ending a lot. The ending, alone, was about a 9/10 for me. By the time you get to the end, you actually feel sorry for Tommy. Without spoiling anything, it does have a bit of a happy ending.
8.5/10
I still think that one of the best movies about shitty/independent film making is Ed Wood:
But The Disaster Artist is a good time with a lot of funny moments and some pretty serious moments. The film was a lot shorter than I anticipated, but I think it had a good run time.
