Here are Amazon facts you will love.

What are 5 facts about the Amazon river?

1) The Amazon River is the second-longest river in the world, after the Nile.
2) The Amazon River was named after the Amazons, warrior women of Greek mythology.
3) The Amazon River is a freshwater river.
4) The Amazon River is fed by more than 1000 sources
5) The Amazon Rainforest surrounds a large section of the Amazon River and is home to about 1/3 of the Earth's species.

Where is the Amazon located exactly?

The Amazon River's complex tributary system spans approximately one-third of the South American continent. The river is fed by more than 1000 sources, originating in Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, and Bolivia. The Amazon River's mouth is in Brazil, and its farthest source is in Peru.

How wide and deep is the Amazon river?

The width and depth of the Amazon River vary by season. In the dry season, the average width of the Amazon is between two and six miles. When the river floods in the wet season, the widest parts can reach 30 miles in width. The depth varies from 66 to 164 feet.

Seems pretty damned deep for my two bits worth.
It's never been drier. You remind me of the citizens on Crypton who didn't believe until it was too late.

Yeah, and you believe in Super man. Guess he is who you should blame for climate.

Or art imitates life.

That is not what I said in the OP. It is not my fault you have the reading level of a 2nd grader.

The title of the thread is "Amazon Rivers"

There are over 1000 tributaries which feed into and out of the Amazon river.

The picture in the OP was of the Solimões River, it says so right there in the OP.

Perhaps you should find a 4th grader to read the OP to you so that you will not be so confused.
Why didn't you do any research on that river? And also the Rio Negro when there?

I have no doubts you talk like this to all others you talk to. What a way to live a life. Full of insults and cracks.

You are correct, I am honest with everyone. when someone is being a fucking moron, I tell them so.

Sorry to hurt your little feelings but you are a fucking moron that lacks a 3rd grade reading skill.

What's funny is records only started being kept in 1886. So, it hasn't been drier since THEN. So, under 140 years.

For some reason I don't find that very compelling.

You hold the record for spreading bull shit.

Let me guess you're a Republican right? That explains everything.

ohhh...that will teach me. Seems your insults match your reading level
Well you are the ninny getting worked up over a mere 140 years of record keeping. That's barely through a single 127 year climate cycle.

Here is a rendition of how deep that river is.

That is how deep it can be not how deep it is right now.

This is a result of the lower amounts of water in the Amazon and its connecting rivers.

Huge grains ships loading up with soy and corn at Argentina's major inland river ports around Rosario are taking on less cargo as water levels drop to near record lows due to a major drought upstream in Brazil, pushing up costs and transport times.

No, I am a lifelong Democrat. I'm also a PhD geologist. So facts matter.

You don't do facts though.
I can't look into your comments to see if you really are a lifelong Democrat who denies man made climate change. Why this? This member limits who may view their full profile.

On the 1,450-kilometer (900-mile) Madeira River, responsible for 15% of the water in the Amazon Basin, levels dropped to just 53 centimeters (21 inches) on Sept. 16 in Rondônia state in northwest Brazil, well below previous records. At the end May, the river held 9.6 meters (31.5 feet) of water.

From 31 feed to 21 inches since May.

I call bullshit. I did a search for your recent posts going back 15 pages and you are a Trumpbot. If you were a Democrat you were a bad one. Trump can have you. You're a dumb deplorable. I know a few here.

You'd be a great Democrat on Fox News.

Republicans say the earth will repair itself

We aren't to blame

Or nothing we can do about it.

Wrong all three times.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me how Donald Trump is for clean air and water. When asked about GW, he says "i'm for clean air and water". How? What's he going to do to CLEAN our air and water? His policies dirty the air and water. So he's lying, again.

The earth will. The earth does not give a fuck about us. The earth does not care how deep the Amazon river is.

This is not about the earth, it is about what the changes will do to mankind.

You think you are Superman able to fill rivers with water.
