of the Democrat party as it is now comprised. They are showing their true colors to the citizens of this country and those true colors are Anti-American. I certainly hope that come 2006 when Dem voters step into the voting booth they remember what Durbin and others have said. To continue to vote for these left wing, coddle the enemey, bury your head in the sand about the WOT, compare The US to Nazi Germany and the Stalinist USSR, accuse our military of war crimes, and more than willing to lose the WOT is just insanity. If the citizens will not toss these jackasses out of office this country is in for a bleak future.

I'm waiting for some local polling to see if Durbin's remarks have any backlash here in Northern Illinois.

Just goes to show what hypocrites the left are. Trent Lott just made a statement to try and make an old man happy during a celebration and the left transformed it into Lott supporting racism. It cost him his position.

Yet Durbin, obviously a blithering idiot, still has his.

You might be right there. And once the Democratic Party has been extinguished, America can become the single-party dictatorship that all Republicans crave.

Lott is a racist. He just happened to tip his hand while attending the racism celebration.

Politics is all about power and politicians want as much as they can get. In America, racists and a multitude of other undesirables are still allowed to run for office and represent the people that elected them. I'm hoping that you are not suggesting that the dems would gladly share all power they manage to attain.
( I've been busy moving etc. but reading your posts I've learned that you are quite the spunky little conservative antagonist yet like so many others, you have no better plan for the nation than a shrubbery.)

No. Actually. Once the democratic party is extinguished, we will have two parties willing to actually defend america. Then we will REALLY be able to have a debate about some of the social issues dividing libs and cons.

Sighs, what do they teach you are Berkley? Do you not understand the political system? There wont be a single party dictatorship. Because there will be another party that will fill the power vaccuum. Just without the extreme nut cases.

Lott is a racist. He just happened to tip his hand while attending the racism celebration.

Please, you are more of a racist that Lott is.

Exactly! We need to get rid of the wackos in control of the other party as we can actually accomplsh something.

Exactly! This is why I live in a multi-ethnic neighborhood, why several members of my immediate family are Latino and why I have never referred to anyone as a "raghead."

of sanity and concern for the nation. As it is now lead the Dem are marginalizing their appeal by being almost completely left wing. Peel off the neo-socialists and the Dems can return to respectability.

I admitting to "ragging" a few days out of every month. But I doubt you would understand. :funnyface

As usual, you are wrong. His statement could be interpreted as anything. Some Black Democrats and the rest of the "cry foul for no reason" crowd invented their own interpretation of his statement and ran with it. Using the typical Dem tactic of "if you tell a lie often enough people will believe it," he was hammered relentlessly by you boneheads until the subject became so controversial he was asked to step down.

The same tactic is being used on Tom Delay.

The real problem is you libs can't tolerate a strong Republican in a position of power so you'll just keep at it until you finally get a "yes man." Or the American public wakes up to your 1st grade tactics and finally turns their backs on you entirely.

But you'll try to legitimize the insane, extreme ramblings of an idiot like Durbin simply because he has a (D) behind his name. Heaven forbid you look at what he said.

Okay then

Dodd praise for Byrd hit by GOP

By Ralph Z. Hallow
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

The top Senate Democrat yesterday defended a colleague's assertion that Sen. Robert C. Byrd, a former Klansman, would have been a great leader during the Civil War.
Sen. Tom Daschle said there was "no parallel" between Sen. Christopher J. Dodd's praise of Mr. Byrd and Republican Sen. Trent Lott's praise of former segregationist Sen. Strom Thurmond.
"I do not think it is an exaggeration at all to say to my friend from West Virginia that he would have been a great senator at any moment," Mr. Dodd, Connecticut Democrat, said while praising Mr. Byrd last week on the occasion of the eight-term Democrat's 17,000th Senate vote.
Mr. Dodd continued: "He would have been right at the founding of this country. He would have been in the leadership crafting this Constitution. He would have been right during the great conflict of Civil War in this nation."
Mr. Byrd has admitted he joined the Ku Klux Klan in 1942. In a 1946 letter to a national Klan leader, Mr. Byrd wrote that he had held the rank of "kleagle" in the KKK. In the Senate in June 1964, Mr. Byrd made a 14-hour filibuster speech in an unsuccessful effort to block passage of the Civil Rights Act.
In December 2002, Mr. Lott was forced to resign as Senate majority leader because of his praise for Mr. Thurmond. At the South Carolinian's 100th birthday celebration, Mr. Lott noted that his home state of Mississippi had voted for Mr. Thurmond's 1948 segregationist presidential candidacy, adding that he would have made a great president and the rest of the nation should have followed Mississippi.
But Mr. Daschle of South Dakota said Mr. Dodd's speech was not comparable to the remarks that cost Mr. Lott his leadership post.
"I wasn't on the floor when Senator Dodd made his comments," Mr. Daschle told reporters yesterday. "I don't know what he said. But I would think even he would tell you there's no parallel."
Several Republican senators were asked for comment on Mr. Dodd's remarks but none replied.
One Republican Senate aide expressed shock at Mr. Dodd's remarks.
"The last time I looked the Civil War was about ending slavery, and when is it a good time for a former Ku Klux Klan member to be a leader during such difficult times?" said Robert Traynham, who emphasized he was speaking personally, and not for his boss, Republican Senate Conference Chairman Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania. "Where is the outrage from those very same individuals and organizations that express their outrage when Republicans make statements that they interpret to be discriminatory?"
Mr. Dodd was among the Democrats who called for Mr. Lott to lose his leadership post and said his party would deal with such comments differently.
"If Tom Daschle or another Democratic leader were to have made similar statements, the reaction would have been very swift," he said on CNN's "Late Edition" on Dec. 15, 2002. "I don't think several hours would have gone by without there being an almost unanimous call for the leader to step aside."
Former Thurmond aide Armstrong Williams said that Mr. Dodd's April 1 speech "is far worse than what Trent Lott said."
"If Byrd had been a leader during the Civil War, he would have been fighting for the preservation of slavery," said Mr. Williams. "Thurmond was never a member of the Klan and he defended blacks against the poll tax and lynching. If Byrd and Thurmond were alive during the Civil War and Byrd had his way, Thurmond would have been lynched."

Look at just a couple of scandals. Trent Lott resigns after some nostalgic (and yes, stupid) remarks at a birthday party which Democrats reacted to with gleeful venom (never mind that the nostalgia was for the Democratic off-shoot party, the Dixiecrats) but Robert Byrd a former member of the Klu Klux Klan is still in office and is being defended by his colleagues. Why? He's a Democrat and they don't care. Can you imagine if he were a Republican? Then there would be a scandal (and he would resign in shame). Here's another: In the middle of the Clinton scandals Republican Bob Livingston, who was nominated un-opposed for Speaker, resigned because it was brought out that he had had an affair some years earlier. He said, "I must set the example that I hope President Clinton will follow. ... I will not stand for speaker of the House on January 6 but rather will remain as backbencher in this House I love so much." He also said he would quit in six months. Did Clinton follow his example? We all know the answer to that. Did Democrats care? No, they called Republicans hypocrites for even considering supporting Livingston, while they continued to support Clinton for much worse transgressions.

The latest revelations about the unforgivable racist comments of U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown proves the point beyond a doubt. Democratic leadership has no conscience or morality. They have only their desire for power which overrides everything including the things they say they hold most dear.

According to the AP Wire | 02/25/2004 | Brown rips into Bush administration official (you'll notice they did not mention outrageous racism in the headline):

U.S. Representative Corrine Brown verbally attacked a top Bush administration official during a briefing on the Haiti crisis Wednesday, calling the President's policy on the beleaguered nation "racist" and his representatives "a bunch of white men."

According to Ken Thomas of the AP, Assistant Secretary of State Roger Noriega, who was the focus of her racist attack, told Brown: "As a Mexican-American, I deeply resent being called a racist and branded a white man." Brown then told him "you all look alike to me.” Clearly this is beyond the pale. She has exposed herself as a racist and by the lack of their reaction she has exposed the racism of her party as well.

An apology is not enough. It was not enough for Trent Lott (nor should it have been) and his comments were open to a number of interpretations. Representative Brown’s comments need no interpretation, they are blatantly racist and she should resign immediately. For her not to resign she will be admitting complete hypocrisy. If her party does not ask for her resignation they will be admitting the same.

When Senate Democrats successfully blocked three of President Bush's nominees for federal appeals-court judgeships in a 40-hour debate initiated by Republicans, Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., told reporters that he would continue to oppose any "Neanderthal that is nominated by the president for any federal court."

Now I don't happen to believe Neanderthals ever existed. But, if they did, the implication is they were something less than human – beings lower on the evolutionary scale.

Kennedy was referring to men and woman like Miguel Estrada, a Hispanic, Texas Supreme Court Justice Priscilla Owen, a woman, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carolyn Kuhl, a woman, and California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown, a black woman.

Kennedy had demonstrated his utter contempt for women in the past – for instance, by leaving a drowning woman and the scene of an accident. But it seems to me Kennedy was speaking in racist code language here. Could "Neanderthal" be the new "N" word he and his colleagues use to discuss minorities who are disloyal to their Democratic Party patrons and others who leave the "progressive plantation"?

Then, there were the leaked memos to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee from the special-interest lobby groups with whom the politicians work so closely.

In one communication to Sen. Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, Estrada was singled out as "especially dangerous" because "he is Latino."

It seems to me this memo and Kennedy's racist exhortations were proof positive that the Democratic Party has nothing but contempt for minorities who can think for themselves, who are ruled by their own consciences and who fail to pledge allegiance to the so-called "progressive" political agenda.

In fact, it is obvious the Democrats become ruthlessly racist against those minority nominees who cross them politically.

What the Democrats like Durbin and Kennedy have managed to do is to immunize themselves against racism charges by currying favor with those hand-picked minorities who pledge absolute loyalty to their party.

Other minorities are not even worthy of the back of the bus in the eyes of the new racist Democrats. Other minorities don't even get in the schoolhouse door if the new racist Democrats have anything to say about it. Other minorities are degraded with sub-human characterizations and racist code words. Other minorities are simply not welcome.
