The people who own the Fed provide the conditions for the political class to abuse the fiat currency. Hence the currency gets weaker and weaker as the years go by. Printing it up was supposed to be when the economy is trending into recession territory to give it a stimulus. And the stimulus is not as powerful as it was when they started doing that due to the fact as it is printed up during good times. Two trillion-dollar deficits on a seven trillion-dollar federal budget.
