Face it, America: The Space Shuttle was a total failure

"Nixon started it. The dumbing down. The Disenfranchising. The working the way back to a more “simple” America. That’s one of the reasons the shuttle existed in the form you saw. Reagan put that on steroids. They were very successful. I have no doubt 45 will be as successful if not more so."

But society can fight back! Pop culture sure is! This Fall TV audiences will be subjected to the great adventure that is spaceflight!

NASA has been given 20 billion to design and produce a space capsule and have nothing to show for it, but at least their diversity program is killer

The first season of Away, as far as I'm concerned, was nothing more than a largely boring soap opera. The only thing missing to make the soap opera feel about it was the absence of the soap opera filming style....sort of a washed out appearance created by low-quality taping and lighting.
The other thing that made it more of a soap opera, was that every episode had one or more of its actors, crying regarding relationships, both in the capsule and on Earth. As space crews go, they were also the most unprofessional bunch of personally unstable astronauts since the movies of the 1950's.
About the only professionally done shots were those of the external space walk. I won't waste my time with the second season, if they actually waste their time making one.

It is not part of the Dumbing Down of America, but it is part of our loss of our belief in ourselves.

We aren't allowed to believe that we are special, or that we have a great destiny.

After all, it takes a lot of confidence to do something that has never been done, like put a Man on the Moon, or to terraform a planet, or to build an interstellar probem.

And Americans need to spend more time feeling guilty about slavery and Patriarchy, and discovering dozens of new genders, because of bullshit reasons.

Nixon put a man on the freaking moon. The Space Shuttle was the greatest innovation of the 20th century. You almost gotta laugh that U.S. astronauts have to hitch a ride on Russian junk or buy a ride on a private rocket to get to the Space Station since Hussein grounded the Shuttle. Not only was NASA dumbed down by the Hussein administration but the mission was changed and agency employees were used as a stooges for climate change propaganda.

Nixon was President but he did not have anything to do with the Moon Program accept cancel Apollo 18, 19 and 20. Apollo 17 was the last mission. He approved of the Shuttle, Skylab and the Apollo/Soyuz Friendship mission. The Shuttle was a great vehicle. But expensive and was the cheapest version at the time. It rested on the side of the rocket stack and it was more dangerous because of it in case of explosion or pieces hitting the shuttle. We did learn to work in space with it. And build a space station. We would have been able to build a multiple module station if we kept the Saturn 5 rocket family also.

Yeah right. Lincoln was president but he had nothing to do with slavery.
