NOPE! We want due process WHEN THEY COME IN, at that time.
It really would solve a multitude of our problems with immigration if we had enough immigration courts and judges to hear an undocumented illegal's case, the week or two from capture, keeping them detained until their hearing.
The wait for a court hearing date is around 5 years from entry, we are so shorthanded and back logged....which makes us release immigrants in to the country awaiting their hearings.
If we had a quick turn around on hearings...then those denied asylum are deported immediately from detention back to their own country, almost moments after arriving ... the most of them seeking asylum, are rejected.
Word would get around back in these foreign countries about all of their brothers and sisters spending months walking in caravans to the US, being returned back almost the minute they made it to the USA.... WHICH WOULD DISCOURAGE others considering selling all they own and making the trip.
