It's a complicated issue that we shouldn't take at face value. There are volumes of legitimate restrictions on the 2nd Amendment and most of them are valid. Nobody wants a crazy person to be able to carry a firearm in public but on the other hand a reasonable citizen should have the right to defend himself with lethal force just like the elites who make the laws and employ little armies for their own protection.
