The commie government agency THE FDA, wants to regulate the cheese on a pizza.

Yes. Giving them information so they can make INFORMED choices. Why is that such a problem?
You wouldn't buy a car without knowing the details of the vehicle and that information is printed in magazines, newspapers and flyers for consumers...

And I wouldn't think that would require the government to pass laws mandating that that information be posted all over the walls of the dealership. Notice that all of the information you listed is provided voluntarily, and people are expected to be able to access it without any government help.
Yes the govt. does make them provide information, one such item is gas mileage on the sales display window sticker...

Oh, yeah, because it would NEVER occur to car dealers that that is an important thing that people want to know without the government mandating it. Thank God the wise government is there to tell them how to run their businesses.
Only because some decide to screw people over the good must also be mandated to a decent existence...You should be more mad at the folks that are out to scam and rip off the consumer, not the govt. for wanting to protect the consumer...I know you want it the other way where a business can fuck you over and you have no recourse...gheesh goddamned extremist...

she's into pain

go figure

Yeah, a counter clerk usually has no idea what is on the menu much less the content of each ingredient...You are asking way too much of a simpleton who can only get a counter clerk job in a restaurant...
The specific point is...

Make it a competative point for your business. The owners will do it or lose your dollars, especially in the insanely competitive pizza industry.

The general point is...there is no need for one of only 2 Statist solutions. The free market makes it happen.
The free market doesn’t do shit

Unless everyone has to comply, nobody will

Why didn’t the free market end smoking in restaurants?

Because if there was a bar in town that allowed smoking, it would put the rest out of business.

It's a liability issue for the business and it's employees..

Most dealers who sell used vehicles must comply with the Used Car Rule. This publication explains how to prepare and display the Buyers Guide and provides a compliance checklist.

You confuse "the government interferes with . . ." with "the government NEEDS to interfere with . . ."
and you think that you can trust a business...
Lol
Says someone who trusts the federal government

Yeah having the 411 is so bad...I can tell you like to have the blind lead the blind...

If the federal government says its going to do something that benefits me, I can count on it not benefiting me in anyway.
That’s just the way it is... no two ways about it

The people fund the military not the federal government

Bullshit.

In the old days, if a person applied to work at a bar, they knew there would be second hand smoke there.

If a person entered the bar, they knew when they heard the sound of a live band and blues rolling on out with the smell of cigar billowing out, there would be smoke in there. . . .

The onus of responsibility was on the individual.

Any jury in the land would have laughed a liability case out of court. Now we live in an insane world.

One of the central thesis's behind Keynesianism is that "War is good for the health of the economy."

Nice economic philosophy.

Don't talk to us about who the crack pot is.

Pretty much the same can be said true of any major publication, broadcast or cable station.

The are all infiltrated by the intel services of one bureaucracy of the government or another.

I find it ironic that the very people who rail about obese people are the same one's who protest the posting of nutritional information and calories on products.
Who?

I haven't really noticed that. In fact, I've seen mostly the opposite.
I don't eat fast food often, but when I do and I see how loaded in calories and fat some items are - it affects my choice.

Yes. That's what these laws are about - "affecting" other people's choices.

Yes. Giving them information so they can make INFORMED choices. Why is that such a problem?

I didn't know that was a government requirement. I thought dealerships did so for sales purposes.

But you know......we can take this a step further. I think we need a law that every item sold in this country has to have an environmental cost on the price tag. If you buy a car for 20K, it should inform the purchaser that 8K of that money went to make that vehicle greener. If you buy a lawnmower for 400 bucks, it should include information that 100 bucks of that went to environmental causes. Same with furnaces, canned goods in stores, home furnishings, just let everybody know. Gasoline for $2.50 a gallon? $1.00 per gallon went to green initiatives.

The problem we have with environment in this country is that it's intrinsic in the price of what we pay per item. Maybe we should take a tip from the Democrats and use the same tactics to attack their causes.

Boy would you hear the screaming and howling then.

I prefer to know how many calories I eat at each meal it's called weight control. I also like to know the ingredients I am purchasing along with fat content for any future strokes I'd like to avoid..
That’s fine, someone else’s health and eating habits are none of your or my business...
I couldn't care what you eat....I have no idea where you got that idea..

And you shouldn't care what anybody eats. So why should government care what you eat?

I like the idea..

There were several hidden gems in the 2010 Obamacare Act. I think we’ve all seen how our premiums have taken off, or the fact that our doctors were smart and either went into concierge medicine or stopped accepting your crappy insurance. But now, it seems like the wizards of wellness that were released with this monstrosity want to regulate your pizza.

Yep. On May 7th all businesses that sell food and have 20 or more locations to post calories in a place where their customers can see them. The FDA thinks it’s a great idea for these calories to be put on the walls of the establishment.

Why? Why do businesses have to go to all this trouble and expense to post the nutrition info on their delicious, affordable food? Because the nanny state demands it. You see, the nanny state wants to nudge you into different behaviors. Therefore, if the nutrition information is posted on the wall, you might see that the #2 Combo at Whataburger will probably take up most of your caloric intake for the day. If you have that info, the nanny staters say, you will make healthier choices. Because you’re fat and too stupid to realize that eating that double meat double cheese with bacon and extra large fries is causing you to be fat.

The regulation requires that the nutrition info be posted in stores, which is problematic for at least one major category of fast food—pizza.

Think about it—Domino’s estimates that there are 34 MILLION different combinations available to their customers. The government wants the person who walks into the Domino’s store to be able to see EXACTLY how many calories their 16 inch hand tossed crust with extra sauce, four kinds of cheese, green peppers, olives, and every meat known to a delicatessen will set them back. That kind of info has to be posted for every combination. In the store.

But, the FDA is refusing to look at reality here. According to one Domino’s franchisee who owns 18 stores, 90% of his customers don’t come into his store at all. They either order on-line, through the app, or occasionally call. They. Do. Not. Come. In. The. Store. So, they won’t have access to all this nanny state goodness.

The FDA Wants To Regulate Your Pizza | iHeartRadio

Do not worry though. The left wing rich white elitists can have all of the cheese they want. Just like THEY can live behind walls. Just like THEY can be protected by guns. Just like THEY can have enormous carbon footprints.

However, the middle class cannot.

What is so hard about calculating the calories in pizza?
Simple computer program to add up ingredients

Tech has been around for decades... Reminds me of Papa Johns saying that he'd be out of business if the ACA passed.
