The commie government agency THE FDA, wants to regulate the cheese on a pizza.

One slice of pizza is actually a good balance of carbs, fats and protein, and as the crust is very air-filled, it actually isn't as calorie dense as other foods.
It depends what you have put on it....I use lots of tomato sauce I make, herbs I grow and I make to dough myself to control how much if any of salts and oil goes into the crust...The oil is to make the crust crispy and dark.. So we usually have deep dish...and low fat mozzarella cheese, mushrooms and ham or pepperoni..which turkey version have a lower fat content..

Grilled chicken is zero points on weight watchers, makes more room for the buffalo sauce of the bbq chicken pizza.
I was on weight watchers in the later 1960's I was so big, at 11 I was at 168 pounds...

it works if you stay on it, and try not to be too far over on your weekly point allotment.

Down 21 lbs since january.

It also makes you want to work out as you "buy" more points via exercise.
I gain weight in the winter because of less physical activity but I usually stay around two hundred and thirty. When I could work full time I was usually at two hundred....

my goal weight is 200 lbs. I'm 5'8" so that is still "fat" by the chart, but I'm stocky naturally so the chart can kiss my ass.

Worst I have been is 265, the last "worst" cycle was 244, and I'm down to 223 so far.

I'm in my "medium" clothes now (yo-yo dieters know what that means)

I do becauase of health I have the yo-yo weight syndrom. I am six one and I am suppose to be at 197 for max biomass, but it ain't gonna happen...

I prefer to know how many calories I eat at each meal it's called weight control. I also like to know the ingredients I am purchasing along with fat content for any future strokes I'd like to avoid..

If you are eating a pizza, you don't give a shit about weight control.
Why not?

I agree. The bacon and pepperoni are high fat, as is the cheese, but with veggie toppings and proscuito instead of bacon, it’s not a terrible choice.

I generally eat clean and organic but I do occasionally get a yen for some good French fries or a nice pizza. It doesn’t mean I don’t care about my health or my weight. All things in moderation.
Most mozzarella is low fat skim milk cheese food used in the industry because it cost less than fat milk food product.....

Eeeewwwwwe!!!! There’s a reason why I hate big chain pizza. When you eat unprocessed food as a rule, heavily processed food tastes like the shit that it really is.

I’m not trying to claim some high moral ground here by eating clean. I get sick eating processed foods. Very sick.

Eating at McDonalds used to cause me three days of bloating, painful cramps and diarrhea. When Supersize Me! came out, I was in no way surprised by how sick that guy was after a month. What was surprising was how long it took him to recover.

Then figure it out for yourself, lazy jackass.

Without knowing exactly what ingredients were used and the quantities involved, you cannot “figure it out for yourself”.

LWNJ's like Fakewinger hate freedom, pizza, and capitalism. YOU are too dumb to make your own choices. Government needs to control all aspects of YOUR life, especially PIZZA!

If you are that obsessive about it, don't eat there. Duh!

Not really, just wanting basic information to make an informed decision. I am wondering why in the fuck you would need to tell me to not have any information when buying a product..Would you buy a car sight unseen?

that sucks. I cook myself a lot, and on Sundays everything is from scratch.

But my weaknesses are white castle's and a Stouffer's chicken a la king.

Terrible and awesome.

I ballpark it all the time when i go out to eat. considering how different people's bodies are from person to person being off by even 25%-35% isn't that bad.

I worked in rest. and food production industry for a decade and that is why I buy only basic raw foodstuffs and raise my own food for consumption....I want to know what is in the food I am putting in my body ...

There were several hidden gems in the 2010 Obamacare Act. I think we’ve all seen how our premiums have taken off, or the fact that our doctors were smart and either went into concierge medicine or stopped accepting your crappy insurance. But now, it seems like the wizards of wellness that were released with this monstrosity want to regulate your pizza.

Yep. On May 7th all businesses that sell food and have 20 or more locations to post calories in a place where their customers can see them. The FDA thinks it’s a great idea for these calories to be put on the walls of the establishment.

Why? Why do businesses have to go to all this trouble and expense to post the nutrition info on their delicious, affordable food? Because the nanny state demands it. You see, the nanny state wants to nudge you into different behaviors. Therefore, if the nutrition information is posted on the wall, you might see that the #2 Combo at Whataburger will probably take up most of your caloric intake for the day. If you have that info, the nanny staters say, you will make healthier choices. Because you’re fat and too stupid to realize that eating that double meat double cheese with bacon and extra large fries is causing you to be fat.

The regulation requires that the nutrition info be posted in stores, which is problematic for at least one major category of fast food—pizza.

Think about it—Domino’s estimates that there are 34 MILLION different combinations available to their customers. The government wants the person who walks into the Domino’s store to be able to see EXACTLY how many calories their 16 inch hand tossed crust with extra sauce, four kinds of cheese, green peppers, olives, and every meat known to a delicatessen will set them back. That kind of info has to be posted for every combination. In the store.

But, the FDA is refusing to look at reality here. According to one Domino’s franchisee who owns 18 stores, 90% of his customers don’t come into his store at all. They either order on-line, through the app, or occasionally call. They. Do. Not. Come. In. The. Store. So, they won’t have access to all this nanny state goodness.

Do not worry though. The left wing rich white elitists can have all of the cheese they want. Just like THEY can live behind walls. Just like THEY can be protected by guns. Just like THEY can have enormous carbon footprints.

However, the middle class cannot.

Restaurants with that many outlets usually have websites, which have that information on them. So if I WANT to know, I can find out. If I haven't bothered to find out, I probably don't want to know, and would appreciate not having it shoved in my face.

Then look it the fuck up, and stop bothering the rest of us with YOUR utterly uninteresting life choices.

And probably, you shouldn't be eating pizza at all.

You could always ask.

:dunno:
Yeah, a counter clerk usually has no idea what is on the menu much less the content of each ingredient...You are asking way too much of a simpleton who can only get a counter clerk job in a restaurant...

Why the hell is someone worried about weight control eating in a restaurant like that, anyway?

Good healthy weight loss. Congratulations!

I lost a lot of weight when I retired, and I was eating whatever I wanted. I was also doing all my own cooking because I couldn’t afford to go out to lunch every day. A friend pointed out I was totally controlling how much fat and sugar I was eating. I’ve also completely eliminated pop from my diet, replacing it with ice tea.

I’ve read articles which say that processed foods are full of chemicals our bodies weren’t designed to digest. The foods bind with the chemicals and our bodies store them as fat because they can’t properly digest them. I know that when I changed over from processed foods to organic, I lost weight without making any other changes in what I was eating.
