Noam Chomsky, in an interview this week, says "fortunately" there is "one Western statesman of stature" who is pushing for a diplomatic solution to the war in Ukraine rather than looking for ways to fuel and prolong it. "His name is Donald J. Trump," Chomsky says.

Exciting time to be alive when Norm Chomsky says something sane.

Somewhat rambling, but finally got the the point. Do we choose war in order to bolster Biden, or peace which acknowledges Trump's efforts? Hard choice for some around here.

I've mentioned several times that Trump would have been a better choice than Biden on the issue of cooperation with Russia. The Democratic party had se the stage for a confrontation against Russia in a way that is now very obvious.

So Chomsky is right. Except that Trump is so far not willing to take up the challenge. Trump doesn't have the confidence of being able to turn the political right against the war.

And of course Chomsky sees and understands the huge risk of world war. He's under no illusion that it's a Ukraine war against Russia!

Chomsky is far, far from being the only scholar or war historian who fully understands.

Let go of the illusion folks. Stopping the rush to WW3 is worth it now!

And be charged with sedition?
Not very likely that Trump advising against supporting the war would result in that. War protesting is still a right. Trump already took much bigger risks.

But if he hasn't by now then it's likely that he won't take the chance. More of his supporters would be pretty solid pro-war.

However? {/b]

It would be new territory and there's no doubt Trump has and can set new parameters in the American mind.

Interesting question here woodie!

every single Democrat in America except Chomsky, from dog catcher to POTUS, is using the exact same talking points about Trump on Ukraine

here's the problem: we Trump supporters are not morons

Can you name a conservative who’s open to WW3?
