Really? Riddle me this bat crap. In 1997 I purchased my home. I was one first Viet Nam Era Vets to do so in over 30-Years.

By 2014 my wife and I had paid off the mortgage. We both worked for non-profit in San Francisco. My wife and I live in of the most expensive counties (Marin) in California. We are both retired and live very nicely.

New York City (I've never been there) is very expensive as is Washington, D.C. (I was stationed at the Pentagon) and it was pure hell living on a civilian with an Army paycheck. You don't know jack shit and it shows.
