the biggest problem with public schools is

By actually working in schools every day? Are you serious?
I think you are projecting your experience on the whole system. If I did that there would be no landlord/tenant problems anywhere in the country.

....The biggest cohort of underperformers come from homes that just don't value education.
You can't quantify "just don't value education" and you know it. Why are you so determined to talk bullshit?

Tell us about landlord/tenant problems and I will not pretend I have ever been a landlord. See how easy that is?

No it's not. You can't help but throw in your own subjective GUESSES as if they are the product of ANY personal experience.
As an underperforming student when in school I know what I'm talking about.
I perceive that you are defending your students more than the system.

My point is that I can't project my successful experience as a landlord and rental property manager on the rest of the world. Landlord/tenant problems are near the top of the list of societal problems.

...
No, you don't. You haven't set foot in a school in what, 50-60 years? You have the fading memories and ridiculous assumptions of ONE feeble-minded old man.

Tell us about your experiences as a landlord and I won't contradict you because I have never been a landlord just as you have never been a teacher. Simple.

Can you explain why an underperforming student today is different from when I was one?

The point is projecting one's experience outside of one's bubble.

You keep insisting that my comments are directed at teachers. They are not. They are directed at the failure of students. Unfortunately, that usually reflects poorly on teachers as well.

You know students are individuals not identical clones coming off the assembly line, right?

That's already been addressed through "differentiated instruction', and there is still widespread failure. Likely because some courses don't lend themselves to such gymnastics.

Differentiation destroys discipline and rigor and contributes to later failure, imho.
