Education has gone downhill. You could take a lesson from us.

You are citing a blog? :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:

These articles are written by educators. For example, one teacher writes that she wishes all her students would show up for classes. Not a problem in my day. School absenteeism is a national problem, is it not? Can't learn if you're not there.
The article you cited was a blog written by a businesswoman.

the public school students are out of control. the American students have no discipline. the difference between the American students and the Korean students is night and day.
Progressively lowered expectations

the biggest problem with public schools is

As someone who left the PS system, three times, first in the 5th grade, then again in the 7th grade and finally permanently 16 days into my 9th grade to get a good private education elsewhere, I can tell you this:

The real problem with the schools of GOVERNMENT. Run by the government, public schools are reduced to a bureaucracy as well where only meeting mandates matters and education becomes secondary to keeping Big Uncle Sam happy so you remain in business.

the public school students are out of control.
The problem with the kids is that kids are like dogs: just as dogs smell fear, kids know bullshit when they see it. The kids are out of control because they are inwardly compelled to revolt against what they know to be an unjust bullshit system. Sometimes the bullshit is so thick that some kids end up bringing a gun to school to shoot the teachers and other students.

One of the private schools I went to was almost entirely (I assume) made up of "problem kids" who were "out of control" in PS because they did not conform to the bullshit.

In every case, once removed from the bullshit PS into a normal, healthy, intelligent environment, they reverted to normal and became model students.

No retard, I'm saying that teachers are powerless to employ any kind of discipline, which means these monsters will never learn respect for authority since they don' get it at home either from the democrat voting parents, until shot dead by the police.

It would have been nice to see them spanked in school instead.

But it's not just about the kids retard. Adults should not have to undergo that kind of verbal abuse either.

This has been a public service notice to all half-wits here at USMB.

Are you saying Teachers are not allowed to send problem children to counselors, principals or to homeroom?

Teachers are there to TEACH, not to employ a lot behavioral discipline to students who should be getting that from their parents who should be telling their children to concentrate on their classwork.

And a clear example ^^^ where many believe in TEACH. The education system needs EDUCATORS and not TEACHERS. Anyone can parrot fashion a book to class, those that can educate are sparse.

LOL, you are word smithing here since the definition of Teach is explained by Merrian-Webster, LINK

"1 a: to cause to know something"

Educator is explained here LINK

"1: one skilled in teaching : teacher"

Meanwhile you haven't answered this,

Are you saying Teachers are not allowed to send problem children to counselors, principals or to homeroom?

I worked in heavy industry for 35 years, but the dumbest person that I know is a retired high school special ed teacher who believes that Adam and Eve were real people and Noah built an ark. People like that have no business being in front of a classroom.

I have talked to a teacher and a school bus driver in those hell holes.

Both tell me that kids today will come up to you and curse you up one side and down the other and they can do nothing about it, or if they try, they will get sued and/or lose their job.
...

Teaching discipline and basic self-control is perhaps the most important lesson we can teach children, but unfortunately, it is no longer allowed.
...

Yay.
That is not true.

Because of his beliefs?

You were a student for 13 years whereas I was a student for 23 years total. That's 12 years in high school, 6 years in the Navy and college undergrad, 2 years teacher education classes, and 3 years graduate school. I think I have you beat. Combined with 21 years teaching, learning every day, I'd say there is no comparison.

The topic is basically those first 13 years of compulsory public schooling although college student also have problems.

I wouldn't project my experience on all other students.

Yes, government employees teach students in public schools as they do in every country that leads the US in education. That is not the problem. For the last 50 years, conservatives have been working to decentralized public education putting control of the education in each community.
The problem is the undisciplined minds of the students, not the educational system itself. Teaching today is like trying to herd cats.

The overwhelming evidence.
You have none. You have blogs, Google stories, and second-hand accounts at most. I'm sure there is something you actually know the first thing about. Why not go discuss that instead of guessing about education?
