I love nukes...but they are not needed now...not to defeat these assholes...iran may be a different story.

When you have women and lawyers calling the shots it matters little what they want...they can't DO anything

Is not strategic patience. The answer is to do to them what they did to the Jordanian fighter pilot. Do it emphatically. Do it thoughrouly. Do it remorselessly. Do it now.

That ISIS is or is not an existential threat can be debated by the Haaaavad lawyers while we exterminate them.

Americans would never burn innocent human beings, would they?
"ISIS's burning alive of Muadh al Kasasbeh has been denounced as an act of savagery, barbarism, and wanton cruelty--one from the 'dark ages' and not of the modern world.

"American Exceptionalism blinds those who share its gaze to uncomfortable facts and truths about their own country.

"For almost a century, the United States practiced a unique cultural ritual that was as least as gruesome as the 'medieval' punishments meted out by ISIS against its foes.

"What is now known as 'spectacular lynching' involved the ceremonial torture, murder--and yes, burning alive--of black Americans by whites. Like ISIS's use of digital media to circulate images of the torturous death of Muadh al Kasasbeh by fire, the spectacular lynchings of the black body were shared via postcards and other media.

"In fact, the burned to death images of the black body were one of the most popular types of mass culture in 19th and 20th century America."

Yes ISIS Burned a Man Alive White Americans Did the Same Thing to Black People by the Thousands

I actually don't think we should get involved, but one reason for that is we aren't serious. You don't fight barbarians with Marcus of Queensbury tactics. Black Jack Pershing knew how to fight them.

Limited war is idiotic. War should be avoided if at all possible, we should keep our noses out of other people's business, but if we do go to war, you fight it to win it and end it.

Be my guest and surrender to the Islamo radicals to atone for the sins of your ancestors. Sounds like a very constructive thing to do. Almost as constructive as voting for obama to assuage your liberal guilt.

quote...

President Obama has two years left in his term—and two years is plenty of time. This national security strategy is a blueprint for what we intend to get done over the next two years – from degrading ISIL and opposing Russian aggression, to leaving behind a world that can more effectively meet the dangers of climate change and disease, cyber threats, and extreme poverty.

Obama sure wasted the first six years, did he not? We've always opposed Russian aggression. Doing something about it is yet a different story. Typical windbag democrat running off at the mouth.

and by the way we are not going to burn them at the stake...we can bomb them back into the Stone Age...they are not that far from there now.

Would you agree the same ideological camp of Americans who supported lynching blacks a hundred years ago support dropping napalm on IS today?

That you and many others on the right are willing to see more Americans pointlessly die in the ME comes as no surprise.

The ignorance exhibited by you and others on the right also comes as no surprise – ISIS fighters will simply disappear back into their towns and villages only to reconstitute after an American conventional force leaves the region – indeed, the return of American conventional military forces will justify ISIS's anti-American, anti-West rhetoric drawing more recruits to its cause.

And the return of American conventional military forces will only serve to further destabilize the Iraqi government.

It's not 1944, ISIS is the not Nazis, Syria and Iraq are not Belgium and France – the age of resolving conflicts with conventional military tactics is long over, and is clearly no 'solution' with regard to ISIS.

I agree your straw man is on fire.

Because that has worked so well from Korea to Kandahar to Mosul? Even if you destroy IS, you will maim, murder, and displace thousands of innocent Muslims as collateral damage. From this pool will come the next generation of IS, and another generation of westerners will profit from bombing inferiors "back to the stone age."

You cannot exterminate an idea, and ISIS is an idea, buried deep within Islam. You can't exterminate that either. What you need is a better idea and we have one, Liberalism.
