European leaders emerged from a summit with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine and other leaders in London on Sunday to say that the European Union had embarked on a surge in military spending.
The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said the European Union would present a plan to do just that on Thursday. Europe, she said, will also fortify Ukraine with economic and military aid, aiming to turn the country into “a steel porcupine that is indigestible for potential invaders.”

To be honest, I'm not sure why the plan will be presented to the US at all. trump has shown himself to be an unworthy partner in any peace negotiation. He and Putin represent a unified front so why not just go straight to Vlad. Unless of course Putin insists his friend Don be included.
Well in all fairness, Ukraine cant come out of this looking like the US's BFF if it wants peace to last so it is better to have Europe broker the deal.

It is true. trump signed an agreement calling for our withdrawal. Biden followed through on it. Securing the airport where a terrorist blew himself up in a suicide bombing was never going to be possible no matter who was prez when the withdrawal took place. Morale in the Afghan military dropped after Dotard greatly reduced the US troop presence which lead to its capitulation prior to the completion of the withdrawal. There's plenty of blame to go around. Biden should rightly be blamed for not making arrangements early enough to get Afghans who helped us out of the country.
Even Bidens generals said he screwed it up.
Bidens aides admitted he had nothing to do with the withdrawal.
So who was in charge?

LONDON, March 18 (Reuters) - An independent Russian vote monitoring group said on Monday that the presidential election that Vladimir Putin won in a landslide with nearly 90% of the vote was the most fraudulent and corrupt in the country's history.
Golos (Voice) said the three-day election that ended on Sunday could not be considered genuine because "the campaign took place in a situation where the fundamental articles of the Russian Constitution, guaranteeing political rights and freedoms, were essentially not in effect".
