Republicans are the ones who blocked a cap on insulin prices.

"Republican senators on Sunday voted down a cap on the price of insulin in the private market, removing it from Democrats' sweeping climate and economic package.

Democrats had tried to preserve the provision to cap insulin costs at $35 for private insurers, but that vote failed 57-43, with seven Republicans voting with them to keep the insulin cost cap in the bill, three short of what was needed."

I ask this often and never get an answer. How do you cap the cost of anything to a consumer? Who pays the rest of it? Where does this cost go to be collected?

Seriously...

How about ask the Question why are US paying so much?

And if you are wondering... In the EU the end customer pays nothing.... Those governments know that proper managed diabetics is far more productive to society than poorly managed...

Now I know Mike this is going to make your head explode... But this is proof that the Government can do certain things better than private industry... Think about that, the market can get it wrong sometimes...

Just keep eating your awful processed food and with insulin that high priced we can cancel the next pandemic and just sit around watching American Oinkers die .

Or we could watch Euro trash die from a lack of heat cuz they laughed off Orange Man Rad trying to spare them from Putin's energy hegemony.

Sad.

We’re paying those prices BECAUSE of the government. They sure as hell won’t be the ones to fix anything.

It is lack of Government regulation that has caused these prices...

US government doesn't regulate prices. Democrats have tried and they have been stopped by Republicans..

Democrats had tried to preserve the provision to cap insulin costs at $35 for private insurers, but that vote failed 57-43, with seven Republicans voting with them to keep the insulin cost cap in the bill, three short of what was needed.
GOP have bowed to Big Pharma and have stopped it at the Senate as Democrats could only get 7 votes when they needed 10.

So stop blaming Democrats or Biden, I know it your default.
The drug companies use evergreening of drugs like insulin to keep prices high. This is a method of releasing a new version of insulin every few years (as patents run out) and remove the old drug from the market. This also kills any generics, there is an average of 95% reduction in drug prices if 6 or more generics sell the same drug as previous one under patent.

The numbers don't lie and the facts are that the GOP is the ones digging in the heels here.

"Republicans decried what they have called “socialist” government interference in the free market. “Today it’s the government fixing the price on insulin,” said Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), the top Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. “What’s next, gas? Food?”

So it is not Democrats... Democrats have tried bi-partisan approach but with big Pharma lobbying it is very hard to get 10 GOP senators.

Seriously...

You are saying that Europe is struggling for heat while US is having power shortages.

EU saw the problem in June and by November had all the reserves built up.

Actually Gas prices have come way down because of this:

I think you are barking up the wrong tree... Think is EU are pretty organised when it comes to stuff like this (Helps having Germans involved, they are bloody efficient)... Countries shared storage and it actually has been a boost to renewables who actually got there price capped..

Yes, Governments in Europe had to cap the price on renewables because they were making too much money. Why? because it was costing too much for the customer and they are not all about profit.

It is lack of Government regulation that has caused these prices...

Are you seriously suggesting more regulation and price fixing will make it cheaper? Are you stupid?

Yep...
I went 3 days without insulin just last week.
Everytime we called the pharmacy it was one excuse after another.
Well, if you are on Medicare, starting today $35 a month is as much as you have to pay. You can thank Joe for that. Everything else you can blame the Republicans and mansion and sinsemilla (sic) obstructing it forever....
