Even though TX is as 'Murica as it can get, there are deep Christian Nationalist movements, politicians, businessmen, clergymen that are influencing and financially backing the politics of the state. Regardless of your political affiliation, our country was founded on religious freedoms and the separation of church and state. Christian nationalism is not something a true disciple of Christ would ever support as it is antithesis of Jesus' actual example.
Yes, there is nothing wrong with the 10 commandments in principle, but they are directly related to Christian/Judeo religions and should not be mandated by ANY law to be displayed.
If you love our country, you should love that which backs the country and that is the Constitution and the Republic for which it stands.
