Thames Water 12 hours of sewage into Fleet Marston brook

Even Schengen is falling apart. I was recently on a train from Marseille to Frankfurt, and at the French - German border, the train stopped, and 6 German border police got in to go around checking the passengers.
It's a Utopian system, so that's why it's appealing to Lefties.

Isn't privatisation of our essential public utilities great?
The New York sewage system is publicly owned by the City of New York. During heavy rainstorms, the city's aging combined sewer system gets overwhelmed, discharging an estimated 21 to 27 billion gallons of untreated sewage and stormwater directly into local waterways each year.

Please explain why nationalisation hasn't worked for NYC?

Germany's sewage networks and wastewater facilities are predominantly publicly owned, and it is illegal to discharge untreated wastewater into rivers. The country boasts a highly advanced network of wastewater treatment plants that operate under strict regulations. However, water quality can still be temporarily compromised by agricultural runoff and combined sewer overflows during heavy rainfalls (shit in rivers).

Please explain why nationalisation hasn't worked for Germany?

Personally, rainfall ain't interested who funds the planets sewage systems, but what is driving the crazy thoughts in your empty head? Oh, I think I've hit the nail on the head.
