“The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation into the migrants that were lured from the Migrant Resource Center, located in Bexar County, TX, and flown to Florida, where they were ultimately left to fend for themselves in Martha’s Vineyard, MA,” said Salazar, referring to an aid center for migrants in San Antonio, which is in Bexar County.

It's important to be accurate when discussing Desantis's stunt. Nobody told Martha's Vinyard that the immigrants, mostly women, children, and families, were coming, and there was a scramble to provide immediate resources for them. Their immediate needs were met due to civic organizations, churches, and generous individuals. They weren't completely left to fend for themselves. However, if this stunt is repeated, it will take time to ramp up resources needed. The important part of this incident is the disgusting and likely illegal dishonesty that DeSantis employed to carry off this publicity stunt. First, he used Florida money to fraudulently recruit unsuspecting immigrants in Texas and gave them the brochure shown below to lead them to believe a wide range of services would be available, when most of the people transported would not qualify. Officials in Massachusetts say they didn't print that brochure. DeSantis is proudly flaunting his lack of integrity. He thinks that is what the American people want.
