The biggest problem we have with Power in Texas is that we're contracted to send so much of what we produce to other states, primarily California.

Those lines should be cut and our power kept right here at home then there would never be a problem.

Maybe if they have enough people killed by their cheapskatery, they will decide to join the 21st Century. Until then, you will be able to fry eggs on granny's forehead.

The problem is that Texas generating facilities are subject to federal environmental laws and regulations and as such a lot of our older plants have been shuttered and can only operate during emergencies. When they do, they are in some cases fined hundreds of thousands of dollars per day due to air quality violations.

We're also subject to all the Federal environmental BS that can make it take twenty years or more to get through the approval process to build a new plant.

It's the major issue we face anytime the state grid is overtaxed.

The problem is that those fines are issued immediately to the producers and they hit the consumer immediately as well.

Our small town which is an MOU was hit 1.1 million. We had to finance it through either bonds or loans and it hit home owners and business operators with a 40.00/mo raise for the next ten years to pay it off.

Perhaps if Dementia made some efforts into keeping all those illegals out of this country, that would be a million or so less people using our electricity that they should not be here using in the first place. I wish we could ship them some of our colder air as Global Warming didn't start here yet. We are still wearing our jackets and flannel shirts up north. They can have all of our rain as well.

The norm in Houston for this time of year hits 93.
The high will be 98 in two weeks on the 14th of May and then drops to 91 the following day and 87 the next day.
