Agree? "If Putin is allowed to succeed in Ukraine, that threatens all of us." - UK's Ambassador to the U.S.

It's about the pipeline....the pipeline is not Russian. Russia pays for the pumping of Natura gas through it.....but has not paid a nickel because Gazprom banking system is not connected to European banking network anymore and the pipeline owners want their money.
Anyway. We are not in mood for charity. No money - no gas. Anyway, no gas - no European industry. No European industry - no weapons for Ukronazies. Less gas for Europe means more gas for China. More gas for China - more Chinese industry. More Chinese industry - more weapons for Russian Army.
As for me - it's win-win situation.

The whole interview is interesting, but that statement is at 17 45.

"If Putin is allowed to succeed in Ukraine, that threatens all of us, including the U.S., and it certainly emboldens China. And I dont think anyone in the U.S. wants to see that."

Let's analyze that. First of all, Joe Biden must not have been in the U.S. when she made that last statment, because Joe Biden just spent an entire presidential term embolding China as a side hustle to his job of POTUS.

Maybe someone can explain to me how Russia succeeding in the Ukraine threatens the U.S. more than Russia succeeding in the Crimea, which Democrats had no problem with Obama allowing?

Maybe they an explain to me why, if Trump is a Putin Puppet, Putin invaded Crimea under Obama, no country under Trump and then Ukraine under Biden.

I get that the Brits have a lot of nostalgia about the First World War and the Second World War. Suddenly, they were relevant again. They'd love to defend Fascists against Russia, instead of Russia against fascists, just for a change of pace.

But, really. Do they think anyone will be around to be nostalgic about World War III if they bring it about through the exact fucking same type web of interlocking defense pacts as got us into WWI and WWII?

But, I'm glad there is all this talk about Trump completely cutting off Ukrainian aid. Might be what is needed to get that little dictator to the negotiating table to save his country from complete anexation into Russia.

At 19:00, Ambassador Pierce resists the "journalist's" attempt to pull her into Trump derangement by saying that a pro-Russia figure "talks to Donald Trump." She tells the host that Trump is his own man, which are probably the truest words that could be strung together in English.

European Banks:

We need to get the 11 trillion in mineral wealth in the two contested provinces no matter how many Ukrainians need to die....let's pretend it's for freedom and democracy.

The problem is that those resources is much cheaper to buy from Russia (or Ukraine, or even from any other place) rather than invest in the conquest war (say nothing about the risk of nuclear annihilation). No amount of mineral resources worth it. The only thing that (in theory) can be worth it - is the preparation of attack against Russia itself.

Exactly.... Don't underestimate the greed for minerals.. But yes Ukraine was slowly but surely being transformed into a giant military base in preparation for the invasion of Russia once again motivated by mineral greed.

Russia has been and will always be an aggressive empire. The corrupt undercurrent is so strong in Russia, a democracy will never be allowed to survive.

Russians are generous people. If DPRK wants RK - they can get it (with our humble support).
They couldn’t do it against a far weaker RoK in 1950 with unlimited Russian and Chinese support, what makes you think they can do it today with forty year old Russian equipment and bad Chinese copies against a first world South Korea backed by Japan and the USA?

DPRK has nukes and it means that American support of RoC will be very limited. More limited that it was back in 1950.

No. Actually, he is remilitarizing it. It's highly unlikely that NATO will accept Russia-acceptable peace treaty after defeat of Ukraine, so, highly likely, Ukraine is just the beginning.

A lot of them. Most of new tanks, as far as I know, are going into new units. Russian (and Indian) industry produce much more scratch-new tanks than lose in Ukraine.

Cold war tanks are supposed to be used now, mostly for recon. They are cheap and expendable. I doubt that there will be a lot of use of them during de-nazification of Poland and Germany.
If the tanks are expendable, what about the crews?

They are expendable either. Why?
You are so typically Russian it’s not funny. Every Russian tanker is valuable, the more so because hostilities-trained tank crews are far less capable than peacetime ones. You, Putin and Stalin all had the same attitude, if you have a problem drown it in Russian blood.

You don't know what Putin (and his decision-makers) thought. As far as I know, his decision makers player almost all possible and even some impossible scenarios (including direct involvement of NATO forces).

Really? May be, he enjoy this scenario. At least, if we are talking about his inner politic its quite profitable.

And this is also not true. At least in the terms of the "real" economy.
Actually we do know. Their plans show in the planned logistics for the “special operation”. Putin didn’t have either the logistics stockpiles or transportation set up for anything except a very “short and victorious war “. That has been the fallback for tyrants in danger of being overthrown throughout history, unfortunately the wars they started were rarely short or victorious. A good example would be Stalin invading Finland in 1939 the failure of which caused Stalin to gut his military commanders which almost cost him WWII.

No. Putin (and almost every sane person) know that even immediate fall of Kievan regime and end of orginized military resistance means at least ten years of anti-guerilla war in West Ukraine (beyong Zbruch river).

Selling our oil for rupees and then buying for those rupees new T-90 tanks and other useful things is definitely better then selling oil for dollars lately stolen by western thieves.
Where are those brand new T-90s coming from? Russian new tank production for 2023 was 210 tanks. Less than one tank a weekday in the middle of a war. Everything else was repaired cold-war tanks that weren’t even close to being brought up to modern standards. And all those tanks and their trained crews are gone now with your storage yards only containing tanks that have already been cannibilized to fix the now destroyed refurbs.
Another problem is that you are selling crude oil for rupees, then having to use those same rupees plus more to buy back refined petroleum products from India. You have become an economic colony to India and China. Even Iran is producing more high-tech products than Russia.
