No regular house will withstand gusts directly hitting it from any category Hurricane the house may not lose its roof but the roof will be damaged by wind and debris hitting it. not many houses lose their roofs really mostly it is wind damage that requires shingling it and maybe damage from debris. a Category one storm can cause lots of damage even though it is a basic hurricane hell even a gusty tropical storm can down power lines.

Texas' power grid has absolutely NOTHING to do with power outages that occur from hurricanes.

Texas' ERCOT power grid is working just fine. You have 30 million people living in Texas all have power except 1.3 million and that been lowered now to only half a million who don't have power, so 28 million people in Texas NEVER lost power. Texas grid is working just fine.

Downed power lines, and busted transformers on poles, gas meters installed... that is the responsibility of Centerpoint. Texas' ERCOT monitors electrical usage. It does NOT put up wires, transformers, gas meters, etc... The heavy winds blew in certain directions that affected less than 2 million people.

It’s a shit grid from a shit state.
