Texas continues its march toward 3rd world status: Day 4 of no power

Conservatives.

Everything bad is Biden’s fault.

Don’t look at me, I’ve always said that presidents get far more blame than they deserve when things go bad and far more credit than they deserve when things go well.

But a lot of people are very simple minded.

I'm not a conservative, and you aren't a liberal. You're just some brat sucking up to your peer group.

Texas' power grid has absolutely NOTHING to do with power outages that occur from hurricanes.

Texas' ERCOT power grid is working just fine. You have 30 million people living in Texas all have power except 1.3 million and that been lowered now to only half a million who don't have power, so 28 million people in Texas NEVER lost power. Texas grid is working just fine.

Downed power lines, and busted transformers on poles, gas meters installed... that is the responsibility of Centerpoint. Texas' ERCOT monitors electrical usage. It does NOT put up wires, transformers, gas meters, etc... The heavy winds blew in certain directions that affected less than 2 million people.

Excellent....well unless you are one of the 1.3 million down to half a million. Last time I looked, it was kind of hot outside.

I live in a highly functional blue state with a good government and excellent services.

I don’t have to put up with corrupt politicians and week long power outages.

Texas is a hellhole.
Boy you sure have drunk the kool aid. You are so indoctrinated you lie at every turn just so you can keep believing your cult. Way to go brain dead

I just came from Houston yesterday. My company has a yard there. I slept in Houston last night.

Houston has power in bits and pieces. Our yard had no power or running water yet I had to stay all night because I ran out of drive time there. One thing I noticed, and when I spoke to someone who was setting up an external generator for a cell tower, he said the same thing I did, "Where are all the service trucks?" In a town of MILLIONS, I saw I think 3 over the course of 2 days. And our area had no power, so it would make sense to have seen some.

It's very clear Centerpoint wasn't prepared for this.

But I will say this. To those who blame "hurricanes", that's not good enough. When we lived in Houma LA in 1992, Andrew hit Houma with a direct blow. Landed as a Cat 3 or 4. Houma didn't even lose power. Why? Because their entire electrical grid was buried. But when we ran to my grandmas house 75 miles away that took a glancing blow from Andrew, she was without power at her house for a week.

But what takes out the powerlines 95% of the time? What liberals love to hug, TREES.

That stuttering fucktard with the 1000-yard drooling stare cancelled the FEMA relief the same day it signed it. :laughing0301:

lying mother fucker

I get it, it's stupid as fuck and probably had no idea what it was signing and then canceling when the 22-year old tranny intern shoved it at him with a purple crayon.

It's all good. The sooner we cut ties to that subhuman soulless filth in dc, the better.

CNN —
Half a million Houston-area homes and businesses may not have their power restored until next week amid sweltering summer heat, even as many in the region struggle to access fresh food, air conditioning and safe drinking water.

More than 1 million power customers in southeast Texas – mainly between Galveston and north of Houston – are still without power after Hurricane Beryl hurtled into the Gulf Coast on Monday, leaving at least 10 people dead in Texas, two dead in Vermont and one dead in Louisiana.

The outages have debilitated infrastructure across the region, including hospitals, assisted living facilities and water treatment plants, leading to mounting frustrations from residents that Houston’s main utility, CenterPoint Energy, was not more prepared for the storm.
Thunderstorms all around the Houston area have slowed/halted repairs today. Our power came back on Tuesday at 7pm. It was out for 36 hours.

Texas can’t handle cold weather, hot weather, or storms with its shit power grid. It is an embarrassment to the rest of the nation. No wonder CNBC rated the state as #50 in quality of life. Houston is now the nations 3rd largest city and it has had no power for 4 days. Unprecedented number of people living in the third world. Its people deserve better than the incompetent social justice warrior right wingers who run that state.

I wonder if Ted Cruz has left the state? Im sure the Federal Government will bail them out… again.

The GIMP of Texas doesn't know what he's doing.

Either that or he's purposefully hurting his constituents.

I don't know which one is worse.

All that complaining for nothing.

Everyone's electricity is now working

Thank goodness Hurricane Beryl hit Texas as a category 1 cyclone with maximum sustained wind speeds of 80 mph. Perhaps they need to call in folks from Florida for some advice, as a category 1 for them is probably considered child's play.

The parts of Houston that got power restored quickly were white areas. That's why power restoration is piecemeal. In black areas the workers have come under deadly attack.

Possibly some areas have become so dangerous that power just can't be restored.
