Terri Schiavo's Husband: Jeb Bush 'Put Me Through Hell'

Yeah. Boo hoo. Jeb made my life hell while I was fighting to murder my wife.

Who gives a ****.
Anyone who respects the privacy of people to make their own medical decisions cares, which isn't you obviously.
Not when the person in question is responsible for her current condition.
Oh, but he wasn't. He was responsible for carrying out her wishes and even if it went against her wishes that was nobody's damn business. That is part of being married so choose wisely.

If the wife pulls the plus against my wishes but I can't wake up to stop here, that is her call, hers alone.

Hear that folks. Marry wisely... lest your spouse wants to knock you off then whine about being mistreated in the public arena.
Yep, and he was.
No he wasn't. He deserved everything he got. Probably much more.

Who?
WHo the **** cares?
The only--ONLY--reason you give a shit is because with Mitt out Jeb looks like the RINO choice, so you have to dig up some shit about some woman from 20 years ago that no one, including you, really give a **** about. Using other people's tragedies for your advatnage. Yup, you're a lib.

I didn't follow that case. I think it was Republicans wanted to kill her and Democrats didn't want to kill her. Did I get that right? Killing her would absolutely disgust me

It had nothing to do with democrats. The politicians who got involved were all republicans.

Terri Schiavo was a woman who ended up brain dead. The husband wanted to follow his wife's wishes. To turn off the machines and remove the feeding tube.

The parents didn't want that so they took him to court. The parents kept losing in court. I don't know how jeb bush got involved but I do remember senator bill frist who was a former doctor who diagnosed Terri Schiavo from watching a video of her. No examination of any sort. This senator is a republican. The rest of the republicans in congress passed a bill to not remove that feeding tube and the bush boy signed it.

It went before the supreme court and again, the parents lost and the husband won.

When they finally removed the feeding tube and she was finally allowed to be at rest, there was an autopsy done.

Turns out most of what her parents, jeb bush, bill frist and other republicans were saying was all lies.

The autopsy showed that she was blind and her brain was so deteriorated that it was liquifying.

She was a dead woman forced to stay on a feeding tube while the rest of her body was decomposing.

This is what happens when republicans force their big government nanny on the rest of us.
Jon Stewart on Terri Schiavo: "If you want to know just how sick you have to get before Congress is willing to do something about health care, well, now you know."
And that "healthcare" she got was being starved to death. The government is going to fix that right?

It's the same way my grandmother died.

She died in the 90s before we had doctor assisted suicide.

At that time my state was just like all the other states. The only thing a person can do is have a living will that says no medications, no food, no water. Just air. And a DNR.

My grandmother stayed alive without food or water for nearly 2 weeks.

She had alzheimers and so those 2 weeks were spent in horrible brain seizures. There was nothing we could do. Her living will prohibited anything but air. So we had to watch as she suffered until she died.

We now have a law here that prevents almost everyone from that fate. Unfortunately it doesn't cover alzheimers. When they're of a sound mind they aren't within 6 months of death. When they're within 6 months of death they don't have a sound mind.

So alzheimers patients still suffer a horrible death and there isn't much that we can do about it. We need to change the law so that it covers alzheimers patients.

The rest of the nation, with the exception of Oregon, doesn't have that law and so the only way to stop the suffering of machines and feeding tubes, is to turn the machines off, remove the tubes and let the person die.

I personally think that's a horrible way to die but that's all that's available in 48 states.

That is one reason I have a shotgun. A diagnosis of Alzheimer's means I will use it to blow my brains out within 48 hours.

I don't blame you. In fact that's what my brother says. If he gets the diagnosis he wants a bullet put in his head.

I watched my grandmother from beginning to the end. The only word I can use to describe alzheimers is evil.

I'm now watching my mom go through it. She was diagnosed in 2012. If she stays on the same timetable as her mother, she's got about 5 more years. And all of them are hell. She's in her own world where children are calling for help and crying, where she sees her children killed on a daily basis. It's horrible to see her try to help someone who isn't there. It's even worse for her to see me and cry while she's telling me she saw me killed that morning. The first time she didn't know who I was, was one of the worst days of my life. How do you go from being your mom's child to being a total stranger to you mom? I know how but it's not easy and it's something I wish no one had to endure.

There is hope now. Because Obama opened up embryonic stem cell research, researchers are now able to grow human brains in a lab. Which means they will be able to test medications on human brains for the first time. It will lead to cures for alzheimers. parkinsons and other brain disorders. I sure hope the cures come soon. Too many people are suffering.

The Terri Schiavo case was supreme government intrusion and overreach. Why do NaziCons only care about fetuses and brain-dead people like Terri Schiavo.
So this case was government over reach and intrusion. And your answer to that is obiecaare the greatest case of government over reach and intrusion in every aspect of your healthcare decisions in history.

You have to be a special kind of retarded to be a liberal.

Is Obamacare hurting you? It's helping millions! Even the Conservative Supreme Court upheld it. Why do you love greedy insurance companies and hate poor people? BTW, healthcare insurers are prospering thanks to Obamacare. What's your problem?
Yes it is and hurting far more than it's helping. More liberal bullshit in action that actually accomplishes nothing and makes it all far worse.

Sure, she WASN'T brain dead? lol

Dr. Pearse concluded from Karp's and Dr. Vincent Gambone's diagnosis of PVS that Schiavo was legally in a persistent vegetative state as defined by Florida Statutes, Title XLIV, Chapter 765, §101(12). This includes the "absence of voluntary action" and an "inability to communicate or interact purposefully."

Pearse found that there was no possibility of improvement

The state has the duty to protect it's citizens. The cause of Mrs Shiavo's injuries are still a mystery and her husband was seeking permission from the court to starve her to death by withholding food and water while she was an invalid. Nobody would do such a thing to an animal much less a human being but a liberal judge issued the order for medical staff to execute a patient. Hooray for Jeb Bush for trying to stop it.

Yes, she was obviously "Lebensunwertes Leben".

Just a fuckin' drain on all.

Well, she was worthy of life - but had none. She was in a persistent vegetative state.
I have no problem with turning her off.

I just wish the Left would go after the death row inmates and lifers with the zeal with they wanted to off her.

Are they also brain dead? Are they all really guilty?

No, but they did something that means they deserve to die. This is about Michael Schiavo making a few million from a book that slams the Bush's. Nothing more, nothing less.

Last exoneration December 9, 2014 (#150)

For Inclusion on DPIC's Innocence List:

Defendants must have been convicted, sentenced to death and subsequently either-

a. Been acquitted of all charges related to the crime that placed them on death row, or

b. Had all charges related to the crime that placed them on death row dismissed by the prosecution, or

c. Been granted a complete pardon based on evidence of innocence.

For a fuller description of the criteria used in this list and the reasons why these criteria were chosen, see Section V of DPIC's most recent Innocence Report. See also an excerpt below from an article in the Baltimore Sun by Dan Rodricks regarding the use of the term "exonerated."

The list includes cases in which the release occurred 1973 or later.

Wouldn't you think a liberal (female?) poster would take the side of a possibly abused (inconvenient) woman who was ordered to be executed by a (male) judge so her husband wouldn't have to bother visiting her in the hospital? Politics makes strange bedfellows.

Terri Schiavo case - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia
By this time, while still legally married to Terri Schiavo, Michael Schiavo was in a relationship with Jodi Centonze, and had fathered their first child. He said he chose not to divorce his wife and relinquish guardianship because he wanted to ensure her final wishes (not to be kept alive in a PVS) were carried out.

Classy guy, not to mention if he divorced her he lost all of the money involved.

The Schiavo case is probably the worst example of how much the Religious nuts have taken over the Republican Party.

That said, dredging this all up again probably helps Bush more than it hurts him.

I would say it's a tie between the Schaivo case and the case of the woman in Texas who was found on the floor, not breathing. Her husband called 9-11. Against her written directions, as in, she had a legal written DNR, the EMTs revived her and took her to the hospital.

She was hooked up to machines and kept breathing for only one reason.

She was 14 weeks pregnant.

Texas has a law that forbids the withdrawal of life saving treatment to pregnant women.

She was hooked up to machines for months. Her husband had to go to court to force the hospital to unhook her from the machines.

And the whole time the far right crazy people treated him the same way they treat Terri Schaivo's husband.

The weird thing is that in both cases the far right crazy people still to this day believe the lies. You see it in this thread. They accuse Michael Schaivo of horrible things that they have no evidence or proof of. In fact the evidence proves the exact opposite of what the far right crazy people claim.

It's very weird. When presented with concrete, credible proof. They ignore it.

CLEARWATER, Fla.—Sitting recently on his brick back patio here, Michael Schiavo called Jeb Bush a vindictive, untrustworthy coward.

For years, the self-described “average Joe” felt harassed, targeted and tormented by the most important person in the state.

“It was a living hell,” he said, “and I blame him.”

Michael Schiavo was the husband of Terri Schiavo, the brain-dead woman from the Tampa Bay area who ended up at the center of one of the most contentious, drawn-out conflicts in the history of America’s culture wars. The fight over her death lasted almost a decade. It started as a private legal back-and-forth between her husband and her parents. Before it ended, it moved from circuit courts to district courts to state courts to federal courts, to the U.S. Supreme Court, from the state legislature in Tallahassee to Congress in Washington. The president got involved. So did the pope.

But it never would have become what it became if not for the dogged intervention of the governor of Florida at the time, the second son of the 41st president, the younger brother of the 43rd, the man who sits near the top of the extended early list of likely 2016 Republican presidential candidates. On sustained, concentrated display, seen in thousands of pages of court records and hundreds of emails he sent, was Jeb the converted Catholic, Jeb the pro-life conservative, Jeb the hands-on workaholic, Jeb the all-hours emailer—confident, competitive, powerful, obstinate Jeb. Longtime watchers of John Ellis Bush say what he did throughout the Terri Schiavo case demonstrates how he would operate in the Oval Office. They say it’s the Jebbest thing Jeb’s ever done.

The case showed he “will pursue whatever he thinks is right, virtually forever,” said Aubrey Jewett, a political science professor at the University of Central Florida. “It’s a theme of Jeb’s governorship: He really pushed executive power to the limits.”
