I shop. I don't just go buy the cheapest. I buy American if it is the best product, in my price range. I used to be a buyer, and I mostly bought American products. But, if my customer wanted a product, because of it's superior features, and benefits that nobody else was carrying, and would pay a decent gross profit margin price on the product they wanted, I was all for it, no matter where it came from. We started carrying a brand of skylights, strictly because I came across them on an overseas trip, recognized the quality and features, superior to the name brand American product offerings, came back home and took them on. They did well for several years, though higher in cost to us, and we charged a lucrative higher than average GPM price. There actually is a market for quality. My boss, sometimes dabbled in cheap import jambs, at prices he thought too good to pass up. We got bit in the butt, on several occasions as the quality of the product, by the tractor trailer load, was far worse, than expected, or that our customers would settle for, based on price point, alone.
