.More nonsense. I suspect Importers pay tarriffs to US GOVT to import product. They then try to raise prices to help with the “duty” charges.
States make more on sales taxes due to higher prices. They probably love it? More American jobs may be created when the find a product they can now make cheaper, better, faster, locally.

As someone who works in procurement, let me tell you how it really works.
The Tariff drives up the total price of a component or a product, and the manufacturer passes that along to the customer.
The problem is when things become more expensive, people are less likely to buy elective products.
