Television has gotten much worse since I posted this thread:
Media Piranhas
Regardless of how anyone dies anywhere in the world the story fills the airwaves on every TV news show. The location of the dead and dying is no longer local news because local stations get the gory details from an army of network ghouls.
Bottom line: Every death is international news now that natural disasters, accidents, and murders have been joined by political slaughters; so it was inevitable that television become one huge obituary column with a side helping of violence.
Incidentally, I wonder if television news in foreign countries broadcast our homegrown killings and violence?
