Ted Cruz is hated now, but one day he will be remembered as a hero. The New York Times is comparing him to Brutus:

And let's not forget that Donald Trump made personal attacks on Ted Cruz' wife and father:
Cruz refuses to be Trump's 'servile puppy' after attacks on his wife, father
Ted Cruz is a man of principle and all arguments that he should "save" himself or his career will fall on deaf ears because Cruz is more concerned with doing what is right, no matter how many enemies he makes in the process.
This is truly like the movie "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington."
If you will recall, in the final scene, Mr. Smith was given thousands of letters against him, and he still did not give up.
Ted Cruz will go down in history as the man who refused to sell his soul when the devil came and took over the GOP.
