Cruz is just trying to hammer a point against Obama. "The president is choosing to ignore laws". I'm sure Cruz could care less about the marijuana issue, he just wants to rant against Obama for something, anything.

However, if it's just posturing for a presidential run, then it's an idiotic move. Sounding as though he would roll the paddy wagons into CO and WA could lose him quite a few votes.

The Democrats have controlled Congress effectively since 2007. Even after the House went to the Republicans the Senate simply ignored the House on all issues the Democrats were not interested in. Obama and the Democrats are responsible for all cuts to your precious science and tech funding. Have been since 2007. Obama gutted NASA and shut down the design and development of a new space craft. Not the Republicans.

as much as i'm for legalization, he is actually correct. it is not the president's job to decide which laws he will not enforce. the executive branch is charged with enforcing the laws. nothing cruz said is against state's rights. if obama wants to change marijuana laws, use the bully pulpit to get congress to either legalize it or classify it differently.

Yet many conservatives argue that states have the right to nullify federal laws they don't feel are Constitutional. Isn't that in affect what Colorado and Washington have done/

If you're going to buy off on the supremacy clause for federal laws that are not in line with the enumerated powers, you have to abide by them all. Other wise you would just be a plain ole hypocrite. So where do you fall?

The Soviet Union probably spent more money on science research than any other country. We see how that worked out.
