Russian military operations are getting close to a stage where Syrian Republican Army is becoming closer and closer to strike the heart of ISIS: "RAQQA".
By capturing of strategic Palmyra, Syrian Republican Army got one step closer to strike the final blow to ISIS, by attacking its capital Raqqa. Palmyra is located very strategically on the road to Deir-Ez Zour, A city held by Syrian Republican Army forces, but been under siege by ISIS for a long time.

Russian jets already started attacking the ISIS strongholds around Al Sukhna, which is the gateway to Deir-Ez Zor. And seems like the Syrian Republican Army getting ready to make their next push very soon.
Once Deir-Ez Zor is saved, to attack Raqqa from both West and the East would be possible for Syrian Republican Army, which would make the defense of Raqqa much more difficult for ISIS, while fighting at 2 fronts, and even possibly be surrounded.
It is once again clear that the Russian support have significantly tipped the balance in the mid east. We will see how the next deck of cards are going to be dealt pretty soon.
