And Wood throws them all under the bus.

Did anyone ever get a glimpse of that Kraken they were talking about? When I was a kid I got the idea they were enormous like Godzilla or something. Turns out they must be more like the size of a nano chameleon and just about as hard to catch.

I spent a lot of Monday midday sitting in on the hearing in a federal court in Michigan held to consider professional sanctions against the Kraken Krewe, the crack legal team assembled by the former president*’s campaign to overturn the election results in that state. Judge Linda Parker was already on her last nerve with the Krewe’s nonsense when their lawyer, Donald Campbell, interrupted the closing remarks of David Fink, who was there representing the city of Detroit—and, by extension, anyone with a functional cerebral cortex. Fink just had pointed out that all of the insane lawsuits brought by the Trump forces played a part in the drama that ended up in the Capitol on January 6. Campbell interrupted Fink, and the court reporter had had enough.

“We have been here since 8:30 this morning,” she thundered, and then ripped all present for talking over each other and making her job 10 times harder than it had to be, adding that if they wanted a transcript that didn’t look like it was typed by drunken marmosets, they should knock that shit off immediately. (I’m paraphrasing,) Judge Linda Parker, who also was fed up, let her court reporter roll.

Judge Parker spent those hours grilling the Kraken Krewe about the fake lawsuits they brought on the basis of affidavits that Parker believed were made of supposition and fairy dust. On one memorable occasion, after looking over one of the affadavits, Parker said:

This is really fantastical. How could any of you as officers of the court submit this affidavit?
The Kraken Krewe kept answering that, hey, these people were willing to swear out affidavits so, hey, what were the lawyers supposed to do? This really was the crux of the proceedings. It became clear fairly quickly that Judge Parker believes that these lawyers presented anything anyone was willing to swear to without checking if the affiants knew anything about anything. (One witness, whom the Kraken Krewe referred to as having worked for military Intelligence, turned out to be a mechanic.) It certainly was clear to Lin Wood, one of the loudest and most prominent members of the Krewe. He spent most of his time at the hearing trying to throw all the others under the entire train. I kept waiting to hear a cock crow.

...

But the day’s finest moment came when Campbell was defending himself and his clients against the charge that their actions helped create the climate for the insurrection. He told the court:

Civil complaints do not foment insurrections.
Reached in the Beyond, Dred Scott declined comment.

What lie? The lie is fraud never happened. This is political persecution and it is to intimidate others. More blatant abuse of power.

What lie? The Biglie is the fraud. Trumpybear has been bashing America and our Constitution with it since 2016. That's why the Neo-GOP is faithless to the Constitution.

Funny how this judge never got around to having the people who filed these affidavits arrested if the claim is they’re lying. Seems that means they’re telling the truth.
How are you going to prove they didnt in their warped minds see fraud? You cant convict someone for lying because they thought they saw something you dumbass. How are you going to prove they are lying vs just not knowing what the fuck they were looking at?

Hey dumbfuck, affidavits are filled out with the full knowledges that lying on them is perjury. You can’t claim they have “warped minds” just because of your racism. Why don’t you try posting proof that what was described as going on didn’t actually happen? Oh, that’s too much like work.

I know that dipshit. My point is you have to prove someone knowingly lied instead of mistaking what they saw. You retarded fuck. Witnesses to crimes sign affidavits all the time and have the wrong person and don't get punished for it. Since there is no civil party in this no one is going to sue them.

What this is...is the response of a justice system that has had it with being manipulated and used like a politician's bitch. These two went so far off the reservation that that's become the point..to the court. Affidavits? Who really even cares? It is the fact that no-one even did the most basic fact check to ascertain they were, even on the face, correct.
No investigation. As officers of the court..these two are sworn not to suborn the law or present false evidence. The attempted to do so, not once, but many times.
Knowingly..and at the direction of ..who, again?

This is important. They let any Nut Job come forward with any claim, with no investigation as to whether that claim was true. Then they turned around and went on shows like Hannity and Tucker and Ingraham and said "one of our Witnesses who came forward is not at liberty to speak about his past work in Military Intelligence".

Clever wording to fool the rubes, then claim innocence later. They won't get away with it.

If you're saying they should be prosecuted, I agree. With felonies so that they lose their voting rights.

But it is a lawyer's responsibility to vet outlandish stories. They are the officers of the court.

The important thing about this day is it reveals how gullible and naive Trump voters are.
