Except in this case it would be like sending the meth addict to the therapy in a car with a 5 pound pile of meth right next to him.

It was poor judgment on someone's part. No therapist should have to be alone with a convicted rapist. I often asked someone to sit in on visits, and when I worked in the prisons, I had a male master's level therapist present in every visit. We shared the office.

Prudent precautions. In the case mentioned by the OP someone's head should be rolling over this.

I agree. Truth be told, though, if the woman had been raped and not raped and murdered, she would likely be the recipient of the old 'blame the victim' thing. I have done a lot of research into this and I've also been published on it multiple times. Facilities generally do blame the victim.
