This ruling has severely weakened the Voting Rights Act (VRA) by effectively mandating that plaintiffs prove intentional racial discrimination to challenge voting maps under Section 2. This ruling undermines minority voting power, jeopardizes previous legal victories, and enables further racial gerrymandering.

They obtained continuity by running the district across Sandusky Bay on the NS Railroad causeway which crossees it.
The bay is no more than 5 feet deep - it will never overrun the causeway.
