Portland, OR is Looney Liberal Land...
Just sayin'...
Every US city over 500,000 is Looney Liberal Land.

It's Looney Liberal Land...
To be expected...
Often times I like libtards. Seriously, this one needs to be shot. Or beaten and fired. Pay the kid 1,000 fine payable out of the retards retirement account. Can we have officials who can use their brains.
Where in the OP, or in the article, does it say, "Liberals" or "Liberal Policy" was the cause of Bureaucrats shaking down a 7 yr old for a license for a limonade stand?
Hell, I say; GET USED TO IT LITTLE GIRL!!! You're gonna be shaken down for a LOT more!!
it doesn't...
but the loony is strong on this thread.

then perhaps the fine upstanding self-professed conservatives should stop sucking up all of the blue state money that gets paid by those US cities over 500,000.

Most of the regulation problems that small and large business face are with state and local governments, not the feds. It always seems to be licensing, health code, zoning, signs, noise, etc. This little incident is an excellent representation of what is wrong with our government today (at all levels) - and why people are sick of it.
The bloody killjoys are on a crusade to suck the least bit of joy out of living one's life.
It's hardly unusual to hear small-business owners gripe about licensing requirements or complain that heavy-handed regulations are driving them into the red.
So when Multnomah County shut down an enterprise last week for operating without a license, you might just sigh and say, there they go again.
Except this entrepreneur was a 7-year-old named Julie Murphy. Her business was a lemonade stand at the Last Thursday monthly art fair in Northeast Portland. The government regulation she violated? Failing to get a $120 temporary restaurant license. ...

Yup. And there will be hell to pay here about that. Really stupid action.
Not quite as stupid as letting the oversight people get so corrupt that no rules were enforced and 11 men died, and the Gulf end up polluted with millions of gallon of oil. President Obama should have came down on these people early on. He did the right thing in firing his appointee for failure to start the cleansing process immediatly. The people at BP and the people at the MMS that let BP get away with the safety violations should all be facing negligent homicide charges.

good grief.
Why would anyone think that's a "Democrat"?
(ChattahBox)Republican Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer of the bible-thumping state of South Carolina revealed his very special version of compassionate conservatism during a recent speech to his constituents, when he compared poor people on welfare to stray cats and dogs. (he was actually talking about school lunches for children)
So if anyone was going to go after children, I would think it would be a Republican. They only care about children BEFORE they are born.

Love seeing people getting their panties in a wad over a law they don't like being enforced. No claims that the girl should follow the law, we are a nation of laws, if she doesn't like the law she should work through political means to change it. Nope, none of that stuff. Didn't see any claims that she was stealing the jobs from the lemonade vendors who followed the law. Nothing about an evil business-owner dodging taxes which need to be paid or we will have lawlessness.
Only apply those "principles" when we don't like certain types of people it seems...
