A Democrat in Florida is attempting to strip one of the purest forms of joy, happiness, and enjoyment out of life through over-regulation in order to impose more control on the populace.

'State Sen. Lauren Book, a Democrat who represents parts of South Florida, introduced the animal welfare bill last week.

It would prohibit a dog owner from allowing their pet to "extend its head or any other body part outside a motor vehicle window while the person is operating the motor vehicle on a public roadway.
"

Look at these ecstatic pooches, 'livin' la vida loca', enjoying perhaps the greatest happiness a dog can have (aside perhaps from licking themselves)

I would ask D-State Senator Book, after seeing these photos:

'WHY DO YOU HATE DOGS SO MUCH? Isn't trying to control every aspect of humans' lives enough for you?''

Actually, it's very dangerous for any animal or human to have any appendage hanging out of any moving vehicle.

In most states, it is illegal, as it's a severe safety hazard. Most states just don't bother enforcing the laws they have regarding this.

You might think its fun, until your dog gets decapitated by a branch that swipes the car at 50+ miles an hour. Or some piece of shit throws a beer bottle at your best friend while you are driving 70 mph!!!

Is this maybe a backdoor attempt to force motorcycle helmet use by humans? Currently helmets are NOT required for adults 21 and over provided they have at least $10K in medical insurance. Since they are using "welfare of the dog" as justification for this new proposed law, it is only a small step to claim they are concerned with the welfare of motorcyclists. Just pondering.

So you're suggesting that the gov't should be able to regulate your rights to compensate for their failure to enforce laws against throwing objects at moving vehicles? I understand your concern for the dog, but I think it is an overstep of gov't regulation.

It's one of those laws that were written for those "animal rights" people who were screaming and throwing tantrums about it back when.

Personally, I think it SHOULD be an enforced law. But the laws for motorcycle helmets and seatbelts are stupid.

You KNOW what happens when you don't wear a helmet or seatbelt. You know what CAN happen, as well. No adult should have to be FORCED BY LAW to wear such contraptions. If they want to take the risk, they know the possible outcomes.

It is how they push their agenda. As an example. The powers that be decided nuclear power is bad. Therefore, they just over regulated so new plants cannot ope…..leading to more fossil fuel usage and more pollution.
They did the same thing with not approving new refineries for the fossil fuel industry and Biden did it with refusing to renew leases.

Most parts of this bill would actually protect animals. An animal abuse registry is DESPERATELY needed nationwide.
Animal abuse is nearly always a precursor to violence against other humans beings.
This is long overdue. If you oppose this I question your character.

I hope it passes TWICE

Dogs do like to hang out windows but in addition to the concerns listed, some drivers get distracted by them.
And animals are being dropped off and abandoned in record numbers. This looks to address this phenomenon also in a sideways way.

I take my dog out for occasional drives in the neighborhood, allowing her to hang her head out of the car window while fastened in, speed between 5 - 15mph.

She loves it.

Common sense goes a long way in life, and properly managed and implemented, it does not require regulation.

Excessive rules, laws, and regs are often designed and passed for the least intelligent among us, those with no common sense.

Case in point, while standing in a long winding line for an amusement park ride in Florida we came upon this GIANT rock on the other side of the railing. Just about every inch of this thing was covered in different colored pieces of used bubble gum previous visitors had chewed and stuck on the rock.

On the rock was a big sign you couldn't miss that said:

'DON'T LICK THE ROCK!'

Now you know damn-well that approx 99.9% of people had the God-given common sense enough to NOT to lick this used bubble gum-covered rock, that this sign was NOT for THEM.

NO, that sign was there for the
.1% of dumbasses who did / do not possess the common sense God gave a door knob and who would lick that rock if the sign wasn't there.

If you question parts of a bill, the parts that don't always make sense, your character probably doesn't need to be questioned. It might just mean that the part of whatever bill it is needs to be examined / questioned.

I would think 'Darwin' would take care of that.

Why isn't the U.S. building more nuclear power plants?

More than 10 reactors have closed over the past decade, largely because cheap shale gas depressed the price of electricity and burgeoning renewables also muscled in. Moreover, nuclear power's attribute of zero-emissions largely went unrewarded, given a paucity of incentives.Nov 21, 2022

Nuclear Power Has One Last Chance to Flourish in the US

Only reason "renewables " "muscled" in is giant subsidies......
Futility and waste of it all explained
Now figure in the rest of the power plants libs want to away with.......maybe this is why they need you living in high rises cause the land use of solar and wind is astronomical

Prog have made it difficult to build Nuclear Power Plants and new oil refineries. Separate the nation. you go your way, Deplorables will go their way. You can go on the stage ragging about how much of a percentage of wealth you have while paying several times more to survive and with a massive number of impoverished people who are victims of Progressive Socialist white racism.

It isn't.
It's necessary because animal abuse is rampant and while you might not give a shit about animal welfare, many do.

The Animal Abuse Registry should be national and should be implemented STAT
That alone would make America safer overnight.
Every mass shooter was a mentally ill animal abuser.
