this is right on, i read a lot. and it's always better when i have MTV 80's hits channel rocking my TV...i don't like to listen to new songs while reading though because i feel i'm not focusing on the song and not appreciating it, but if it's an old tune, it works!

I remember the 7th Heaven TV show episode in the fall of 2002 when Eric had his heart surgery. The doctor asked him who his favorite singer is. Because he said Elvis, Elvis's music is what played during the procedure. What if the patient wants something that isn't rock oriented?

God bless you always!!!

I can see it now -- the surgeon performing a sex change operation listening to "Won't Get Fooled Again".

I did not read the article, but it is generally accepted practice anesthesia selects the music in the OR. There are notable exceptions, one surgeon when I worked the OR had his operating room wired with stereo and he selected music. He made the hospital lots of money. But usually it was anesthesia providing the tunes.
