If Harvard and other schools aren't going to be doing in-person classroom learning this fall, there is no reason for their foreign students to stay in America.

Then be prepared for economic decline in that sector of a demographic.

This new policy just bars students who are learning online, and thus have no reason to be here, from being here.

Common sense, particularly if we are worried about pestilence.

This is the one new thing that the Corona Panic has taught Americans. There are a lot of things we can do remotely, including work in many fields as well as study. This whole thing is going to be crushing to the huge megacities. Why work in downtown New York City where it cost a prince's ransom to part, when you can do the same work from your home in Ulysses PA, or New Philadelphia Ohio, which are a lot less expensive

So foriegn students bring pestilence with them or develop it here?

They might as well. The academic sector has been in moral decline ever since the Russian and Chinese communists infiltrated it back in the 50's. How the hell do you think we mysteriously developed so many brain-dead Marxists in this country? The academic sector has been cranking them out like sausages.

I thought they were penny stock dealers...

They could do either one. But if they are engaged in online learning, they should do it from their home country, there is no reason they have to be here and that's the point.

There is currently no law against it just bigotry.

How is it "bigotry" to deny someone who has no legitimate reason to be here, from coming into the country?

If any of these students wants a tourist visa, they can apply for it.

How many elite colleges will go all-online? Zero.

If my fucking bowling league can figure it out, then the academic wizards should be able to. People won't be willing to pay those tuitions for on-line courses.

This is why nobody lives in Kansas.

Harvard says they are going to be doing it this fall, at least for some courses of study.

Now, I think that students learning endodontics or proctology are going to have a hard time doing all their learning online. Young people really have to have to be hands-on to learn how to do a proper Anal Probe.

Lots of people live in Kansas. And modern technology is going to make Kansas a lot more popular. If someone can work from their home in Dodge City or Hays, why pay New York rents?
