I just saw an old nbc article. It said “Nationally, the solved-murder rate has fallen from 79 percent in 1976 to 69 percent in 2019.” Interactive: Track solved murder rates across the country
In some places the rate is as low as 30%.
The murders without arrests were still crimes.
