It is the responsibility of the SS to secure the ENTIRE site, and that involves touching base and communicating with local law enforcement. It is OUTRAGEOUS that the federal government security arm would not only fail, but then try to pass the buck to a rural small police force.

Not true. They are responsible for a security assessment of the area and recommendations. Certain areas are left to State and Local PD. Investigations will bring light to this. USSS is in full blown CYA mode. Sources have been told agents are supposed to STFU if you want to keep your job.
