Nolan Ryan and Harry Spillman (sp?) were friends. One time in Spring Training, Spillman was struggling to make the team the Astros were facing and Ryan was on the mound. Harry had a career day for the 3 innings Ryan pitched; I think he had 2 home runs in 3 at bats.
Later on Ryan sort of smiled when a reporter who knew of their relationship brought up their friendship.
