The Southern Poverty Law Center on Tuesday labeled several parents’ rights organizations “hate and antigovernment groups” alongside groups such as the Ku Klux Klan.

The extremism watchdog’s “Year In Hate and Extremism 2022” report counts 1225 “hate and antigovernment extremist groups” being present in the US last year, up from 733 in 2021, with several of the new additions focusing on parental rights and education issues.

“Schools, especially, have been on the receiving end of ramped-up and coordinated hard-right attacks, frequently through the guise of ‘parents’ rights’ groups,” the SPLC’s report argues.

“These groups were, in part, spurred by the right-wing backlash to COVID-19 public safety measures in schools,” the report adds. “But they have grown into an anti-student inclusion movement that targets any inclusive curriculum that contains discussions of race, discrimination and LGBTQ identities.”

The SPLC report hones in on Florida-based group Moms for Liberty – a nonprofit with 280 chapters in 45 states and 115,000 members – as one of the organizations “at the forefront of this mobilization.”

This is another example of how the SPLC uses hate and fear as a political tool.
They brand and label mainstream people as "extremist".
One of the Left's new branding labels is "hard right"
It is normal for people to not want children to be taught to hate and to be sexually groomed in the public schools.
The Left doesn't want parents to be able to defend their children from Left Wing Hate Ideologies (CRT, DEI ESG...).

The SPLC is an extremist hate group itself

Even more wacko than most of the groups they claim to monitor

Mom's for Liberty is classified as "anti-government". They use the cloak of defending children (which they ultimately have no interest in) for their anti-...everything-that-isn't-white-and-heterosexual views.

i have never liked this group. Some of these groups need to sue them for defamation. If I remember correctly I beleive the liberal group A.D.A sued them once for labeling them as a hate group. I will have to look it up to make sure but thats the way to go when the SPLC comes out with these list.

SPLC: need a hate group? We'll deliver. What a bunch of frauds. No matter the situation they will 'find' a hate group to fit whatever the liberal agenda needs. They are one of the least reputable organizations on the left, and that's saying something.

Yep, anything to try to stay relevant and keep the money flowing their way.

.

The SPLC used to do actual good work, representing blacks harmed by racist assholes like the KKK and neo-nazi groups.

Now they are just a front for the hard left.
