Soy Bean Farmers.....What is NEXT?

Soy Beans.
China participation, meaning BUYING the USA farmers Soy Beans.

I heard it was ZERO, which is 0%, Has China actually purchased ANY of our Farmers Soy Beans?

When the alternative fuels craze hit Soy Bean prices soared, all kinds of plants were built to supply the need. That craze has passed and the are all closing.

If you go into a trade war, but you don't understand how such a trade war is going to work, but the people you've gone to war with do, you're going to look very stupid. Or Trumpish.
Yup

If their farm survives, that is.
why would it not? farmers always budget for a bad crop, low yield or something in demand, it's like the stock market

my local farmers plant mostly barley, wheat and lentil but going up to a relative are miles of yellow fields, this is mustard or rapeseed which is a solid cash crop
another farmer I know plants grass for seeds for pennington seed company but rotates around

And this year’s crop?

One year and they’re fucked
you don't understand farming then very well
per your knowledge one bad yield, unusual dry spell they are belly up selling the farm for pennies on the dollar
must watch too many movies

You don’t know many farmers. I do

In bad years, they use crop insurance to stay afloat.

I don’t think you understand how slim their margins are these days. Input costs are really high right now.

With all due respect to the soybean farmers, they don't get to unilaterally set foreign trade policy with out #1 geopolitical foe.

Pay them off for the soybeans they can't sell and move on.

Taxpayer bailout, necessitated by Trump’s belligerant, expensive and counter productive trade wars.

Soybeans only illustrate how counterproductive it really is.

how many countries in the world are there? china is not the only one to sell to, relax
if nobody wants soy......farmers plant want they DO want to buy
China used to buy most of our export crop.

Indeed soy industry trade groups worked hard for years to build up that trade.

only to have it destroyed with the wave of a hand by a wave of the wannbe imperial hand. No planning or thought has gone into Trump’s reckless and unnecessary trade wars. And his consistant bad faith and instability make it that much worse.

Working hard doesn't translate to success if the planning is absence.

You sell your beans to China in place of ours, and we will loan you $20 billion dollars.

Imagine a Democrat, any Democrat, ever doing something this inexplicably stupid.

Argentina's soybean export orders surged to a seven-year high this month as Chinese importers bought millions of tonnes of the staple crop during a brief suspension of export taxes, securing more than half of their near-term needs from South America.

The rush of orders has rattled the Trump administration, where divisions are deepening over Argentine President Javier Milei's closer ties with Beijing and what many Republicans see as a direct blow to American farmers.

I'm sorry China refuses to buy our soybeans because they want to use their economic might to belligerantly become the world's dominant superpower. Same reason they killed our rare earth industry and are now using their monopoly to squeeze us.

Trump was the first president to awaken America to the growing threat of China back in his first term. Every other national politician was more interested in globalism and ignoring the threat. China is a problem decades in the making and it's going to take decades to fix. We're going to need to subsidize the soybean farmers as we disengage with China. We're going to need to rebuild our rare earth industry from the ground up, probably with more government subsidies and relaxing EPA restrictions (which China laughed at anyway so bringing it back will be clearer in the long run). Distasteful, but necessary.

LOL, we produce more soy than anybody, china wants it and needs it they will play by our rules
in fact in the long run it might help our farmers by raising the price of soy

supply and demand, where else is china going to get soy?

sure I do, I know farmers personally but they always plant a crop that makes money and is in demand

You have heard of “supply and demand” right?

What happens when supply stays constant and demand drops?

you switch to a different crop!! if demands drops you drop the supply

That is supply and demand 101 ;)

It's one word ....soybean ,,,and soy products are in almost every food product sold in America. What's the problem again?

There are food shortages all across our globe. China is feeding its livestock soybeans rather than people.

Holy shit...

..... ..... ..... China was feeding it's livestock...

..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... People?
