do not like to discuss. On this day 2-19-1942.

Not a shining moment in U.S. history to be sure.

I assure you, however, that had a Republican held the office at the time, he would have done the same...

what are you basing your assurance on ?

Did FDR democrats pick up lucrative real estate holdings in California from American citizens who were incarcerated without due process and forced to dispose of assets before they were imprisoned? It seems that the #9066 E.O. only included West Coast Japanese Americans but might have authorized looting of Japanese holdings in other parts of the Country through racist propaganda and media compliance. Ironically the #9066 order didn't extend to Hawaii where Japanese espionage was actually a threat.

It used to be an "executive order" but to FDR fans it was a "proclamation". Apprehend, secure and remove Japanese, German and Italian ....non-citizens? Sound good to you? Was it legal? The kicker was that the (former) KKK member appointed to the Supreme Court by FDR, Justice Black, paid the president back with his judicial opinion that justified the incarceration of American citizens without due process. When you factor in the government's takeover of the media at the time you have to say the fix was in.
