so 26% of Americans have mental illness and there is really no mental health system. Just pills. Just might have something to do with all these killings and insanity on airplanes etc etc.
So why are we the only modern country without a living wage health care daycare paid parental leave cheap college and training great infrastructure and vacations ID card to end illegal immigration? No sacrifice is too great to save the greedy idiots from paying their fair share.
An estimated 26% of Americans ages 18 and older -- about 1 in 4 adults -- suffers from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. Many people suffer from more than one mental disorder at a given time. In particular, depressive illnesses tend to co-occur with substance abuse and anxiety disorders.

I agree a good portion of the population needs mental health treatment. Of course you blame it all on the GOP, when in reality mental hospitals have been shut down in droves over the last several decades in blue cities and states.
By the way, what are all these other “modern countries” with “living wages” and cheap college?
It is simple... Tax Cuts... US has been cutting taxes for the last 75 years... They have now no money for Services...
As for Modern Countries
- Germany
- France
- UK
- Sweden
- Norway
- Denmark
- Finland
- Ireland
- Netherlands
- Belgium
- Switzerland
- Australia
- Italy
- Israel
- ......
All those have living wages... The main reason is they have safety nets and support like Healthcare, Education, Parental Leave, extensive social security net.... They have higher taxes but those taxes are used to help everyone, thus they have less crime especially serious crime..
According to Germany's Der Spiegel, German police shot only 85 bullets in all of 2011, a stark reminder that not every country is as gun-crazy as the U.S. of A.

That is a country 1/4 the size of US and they used 85 bullets in one year...
By the way that country Germany also ran a surplus from 2012 to 2019 and a sizeable one as well, they run a debt to GDP ration almost half of the US, They have free college and maintenance grands to poor kids, entry to college is on the students performance only and not how much there parents make... The best universities are public in Europe (not opinion, fact)...
The US used to be like this, back in the 1950s, taxes were high but they also had great services, GI bill as a good example... US used to see try and help people, the GOP policies of demeaning the poor as some some kind of twisted logic is now coming through... They try and pretend it is tough love when it is cruelty and detrimental for America.
