trump's election has created a situation unique in US history. Namely, an incoming admin promising to abuse their power. Internal discussion of pre-emptive pardons is a response to that situation.

But if they haven’t committed any crimes, and the justice system is pure (as Biden and the Democrats have maintained throughout guiding and supporting prosecutions on Trump).. then there’s nothing to fear, and no need for a pardon.

1. The DOJ and justice system can be corrupted and used as a political weapon (thus supporting what Trump/conservatives have said the whole time, and admitting the left was wrong and likely complicit)

What's to stop Trump from pardoning himself and all his family and associates from any federal crime they may have committed or may commit in the future?
