Some of us have referred to the constant chaos trump creates. This is what we mean.

It's all he knows. He has no concept of how his actions affect others.

Imagine being an American business trying to do even basic forecasting during this insanity.

And our former trading partners are moving away from us as quickly as they can.

I saw him answering a question about his polling numbers a day or two ago. Looking down, he just softly, almost meekly, said something like, "I really don't know why they're not a lot higher". I know there's never any way to tell with him, but it sure seemed sincere.

Who knows, but I think it's possible that he really doesn't know or understand any of this. When people look back on this period, on top of all the chaos and damage, he may turn out to be a sad, tragic figure.

and next week it can go back up....will it still be trumps fault?...

Funny, since January 2025 my annunity has risen in value while I've collected my monthly stipend.

Hillary was right. He is temperamentally unfit to lead. His abilities lie with writing crazy social media posts in the early morning hours, grifting, and posting juvenile videos. Not being a responsible adult who was elected to solve the nation's problems. In part because he has no interest in doing so unless there is something in it for him.
And yet, here we are. The flock (still) adores and believes him.

I went several years before I would use the terms "cult" and "fascism" in describing all of this. But at some point, this became a little too obvious (and essentially dishonest) to ignore, so I went ahead and started using the terms. And now, I've had a little unnpleasant epiphany over the last month or so.

While I truly don't like saying this, something else has become clear to me: I think that overall, the flock (not counting the craven politicians and opportunistic professional sycophants) simply lacks the intellectual elasticity to see any of this chaos. They just can't. So I don't think they're lying when they deny it.

I avoided going down that road (just like with "fascist" and "cult"), but that's where I've ended up.

Can't get there. Tragic for the country, yes. But he will walk away having grifted billions, effectively having destroyed the DoJ, I'm not going to list all the reasons making him the worst prez of all time and the damage done. I can not muster any sympathy for him.

Depends on definitions, I reckon. He's an awful, miserable, desperately needy, profoundly damaged human being. Look up "malignant narcissist" and he checks pretty much every box.

But how is he in the White House? And how does he stay there? I just see another story. He's not ideological, he doesn't have either the capacity or the discipline to be ideological. He's just this... thing... that is being held up for idolatry by TRUE ideologues. People who have worked for him say he doesn't know anything. He's like a feral, predatory animal.

I dunno. It's just difficult to hold on to the notion that he is an adult who knows what he's doing. Wouldn't that be a requisite for working so hard to create so much chaos?

Yeah....you leftists create the chaos and then blame everything that results on Trump.

Just like all of the paid riots and shutdowns.

No question the chaos is intentional. The motive behind it is less clear. The thing that is painfully apparent is he doesn't care about the carnage he'll leave behind cuz he'll have a big bag of money and immunity from prosecution.

The motive is clear if you have an open mind.

The only thing that is clear here is that your mind is closed.

Being prez for life? The regime breaking more laws? Accelerate climate change? Reward incompetence and corruption? Get the approval rating below 30%?

The "fascist" thing, is a little like calling someone a "communist" or a "socialist". Most people don't want to admit that they are one (for historical reasons, or whatever). So, they just write it off as an insult and refuse to consider it. But sometimes it's the truth and sometimes the truth needs to be faced.

Well, the Left brought much of this on itself when it was screaming RACIST and XXXXPHOBE at every damn thing that moved. That created the pusback ball rolling and Trump took advantage of it. So now MAGA is doing the very thing it hated, diluting important words until they have essentially no meaning.

But yeah, this country needs them to see what this is. But I don't know how that happens. All the markers are there, but they either refuse to see them or simply don't have the ability to. I think that for the rank & file, it's the latter.

I need to remind myself constantly of The Following's capacity for blocking out any reality that reflects badly on trump. For example, none of the reporting on repeated violations of court orders make a dent in the glorification of Dear Leader. They have various defense mechanisms employed to create a mental zone that can not be penetrated by what is going on around them in the real world.
